Congratulations Jenn and Elliot (and of course Ollie!!!). We have been willing you on the whole way ❤️❤️! We know this is a big challenge both physically and mentally but one you will look back on and smile about with happy memories in years to come. Look at what you’ve both achieved? Sure, the distance you have traveled around the Great Loop is one measure of your progress but as remote observers, we can see huge progress well before this (of course you know this yourselves!). Keep your spirits high and enjoy yourselves. Life’s too short for regrets and “if onlys”. Continue to have fair winds and following seas and know that your well wishers are sending positive thoughts to help you, especially when things are tough. Kindest regards, Pete and Caroline ❤️❤️

This video & future vlogs will be really exciting since my family never went past the Potomac River, going north from Hampton. Watching you guys anchor remind me that I purchased two very inexpensive wireless remote controllers(amazon or Walmart) with pre wired pig tailed receivers that I installed on the windlass and the bow thruster, very easy to do so one person can be out on the bow dropping the anchor with the remote. Makes life much easier. I have to admit I have not tried the bowthruster remote except when I tested it.

Elliott. A brief history lesson about being a Captain. The root word for captain, is capit. Which means head, or chief. Chief means, the person in charge. Hence, whenever either you, or Jen are at the helm, you are the Captain. Because you are in charge. Being a Captain has nothing to do with a certificate. So, don't sell yourself short by saying that you aren't a Captain. The certificate simply shows the rest of the world that you've passed a "competency" test. Keep up the good work.

@@SchoandJo So our trip did not go so well. We made it about 10 miles out of the harbor when the winds turned and we took a wave over the bow. Did a follow up check on the weather and the storm that was supposed to hit Sunday, we left Friday, was coming in Saturday now and the took our 0.7 at 2-3 seconds waves and made them 2 at 2-4 seconds. We turned ourselves around real quickly and made the trip back home. All is good with us and the boat but it was not the best ride. This is Lake Michigan by the way. Be prepared when you make this far.

damn i live 10 minutes from Solomons across the bridge and about 45 minutes from point lookout. i fish in smith creek off the potomac all the time in my kayak. Solomons pier usually has decent food, used to go for ayce oysters and there is the Tiki bar i spent many of weekend hanging there point lookout has camping and the only boat docking is the camp ground area but pivot probably too big for the shallow water there the place right behind at solomons was another hang out and its been through many changes, it was called capt seaweeds when i first moved here and again spent many of blurry nights there also when i was younger...lol oh yeah and played drums in a band under the Gazeebo one time also and in the restaurant that used to be Catamarans/capt seaweeds and the place beside it also.

@@SchoandJo makes sense. I had the opposite challenge.
