Panjat Pinang (Climbing areca nut) or in Dutch it is called De Klimmast which means climbing a pole, has been around since 1920, held every August 31 to commemorate the birthday of the Dutch Queen Wilhelmina Helena Pauline Marie van Orange-Nassau. Since then, climbing areca nut has been used as entertainment for big events such as birthday parties, weddings and other important moments. Behind it all, climbing areca nut is a symbol of oppression. Indigenous people will experience difficulties because they step on each other and even fall to get to the top to fight for expensive prizes while the Dutch just watch below laughing because they think this is entertainment. Even so, according to the Indonesian people, the areca climbing competition has a positive meaning for all of us, namely teaching the spirit of never giving up, working together and helping one another. 8:55 The women said that they felt confident that they would be able to reach the pole all the way to the top Just like a game of tug of war, climbing areca nut is also a game of teamwork; not an individual
