Come along with me as I tour all our gardens. Things are growing by leaps and bounds! Everything looks wonderful except Corie's beans. Today Matt and I added some deer defenses at the big garden and Granny's garden so hopefully that will keep them away.

I started watching your channel about 1 year ago when I went out on disability. I have learned so much from all of you. Tipper, Matt, Corie, Katie, AND Granny. We started our first big garden this year and are starting to harvest the bounty the Lord is providing. . I can't thank you enough for your wisdom and Bible teachings. It has helped me greatly. Keep doing what you're doing, the way you are doing it!! ❤

You know what Tipper, what I love is that we are not that dissimilar in our gardening environment. When you are needing rain, we are already praying for it. Our gardens are an Eden and I always feel blessed to harvest just a little bit. I know the wildlife can be frustrating at times, but I know God always provides exactly what we need. My husband planted corn this year and we are watching just one seedling grow, lol, but I was able to barter my gladiolus flowers for some field corn this evening, and all is good. I will continue to pray that your lives are rich in peace, love and prosperity. Enjoy all those little garden victories! Peace always with you and your loved ones.

A young buck was in our yard last year. He was not afraid of us. He ate the tops of my beans. We started yelling and bringing the dog out on leash to bark at him. The beans came back. He didn't.

Words of wisdom. These are actually words to a song but they are so true. From the song Three wooden crosses by Randy Travis, it's not what you take when you leave this world behind but what you leave behind you when you go. And this saying Life is not measured by the breaths we take but by the moments that take our breath away.

Your gardens are absolutely beautiful Tipper. I'm excited about the watermelon. My grandpa used to grow Black Diamond watermelons. They were huge. He would take a truck load to town and sell them for a dollar each. They were so delicious. My grandpa used to tie a bunch of tin cans together and hang them around his melon patch to keep deer out. I guess the noise scared them away.

Best success we’ve ever had with deterring deer in the garden is playing a radio through the night. We set up a radio playing and they don’t stick around if they wander in. We’ve done it for several years now with no problems since we started.

True, but given who I’m commenting to, their neighbors are all their family with gardens. They don’t have to blare the music. Just low music playing startles the deer to the fact that “people” are around. We live on several acres with only our family around as well. And we don’t play 24/7. It’s something we do at night, as that’s typically when they are gonna come in and eat, when there is the least chance for people activity.

The panning view beginning at 1:56 is the most beautiful I have seen in your yard videos. Getting this view from on high of the whole garden puts everything in a different perspective from all the shots from ground level. You and Matt should be as delighted with the fruits of your labors , under the Almighty's nurturing care, as we are that you share these resplendent scenes with all of us.

Daisy fleabane, has a historical association with repelling insects. In times past, people utilized its aromatic properties to ward off pesky insects by hanging it from the eaves of their houses, stuffing it into pillows and mattresses, or even burning it. While the efficacy of these methods might be understudied, there’s evidence suggesting that birds seek out and incorporate Fleabane into their nests, perhaps to protect their vulnerable offspring from parasites. This intriguing relationship hints at the plant’s potential insect-repellent properties.Your garden looks very healthy.

Once deer find a garden to graze in, they'll come back again and again. There are several KZbin videos that show you how to use fishing line to make a cheap fence that's invisible. Deer can't see it and when they bump into it, it spooks them away. I miss my garden now that we live in a condo. Adding parsnips and turnips to vegetable soup enriches to the flavor. Love y'all.

Not sure this will work for you. But we have a sprinkler that goes off when something crosses it's path. It's called a scarecrow. It has saved my garden. But you have so much space to cover it may not cover what you need. But it would certainly cover where they are coming in. We turn it on at night. But make sure you remember remember to turn it off in the morning or you will get a cold shower. I hope hope you check it out and see if it's workable for you

Tipper, mulch all your tomatoes with Pine Straw! And never use chicken manure until it's sat a whole season. It's the hottest fertilizer out of 'em all. And it'll burn up your plants. Fertilizing tomatoes in hot weather can also cause trouble. Get Rose food. Weak solution poured about 6" from and around the base of the plant. And then give them a ground soak.

We used to have deer in the garden big time, till somebody told me to put a loosely-tied run of yellow caution tape around all the fence post tops around the garden. The deer used to jump the fence, but they never have since we put the caution tape along top of the fence. It waves a bit in the breeze, and they've never crossed it that we could tell. Kinda like you shiny streamers, I guess!

Just had my very first Cherokee Purple tomato sandwich. Delish! I couldn't wait for the bacon. Just as well, I like them just tomato just as much. JUUUUUU--CEEEEEE! So good! It came from the local produce stand, but it had gotten missed on their vine and was so deeply ripe it split. So they couldn't sell it!!! Hehe! He GAVE it to me with the rest of my stuff, and said "better eat that one tonight"! So I followed orders, of course. Fresh loaf of bread and Dukes mayo.

Purselane is medicinal as well! I have to water my nasturtiums, I started in a pot with an ice cube! Here in Texas, trying to keep it alive on the patio. 😁

We just 4 yellow squash and 2 green zucchini the past 2 days. So excited. I live in an old historic neighborhood so no big plot of land but enough to have fresh vegetables for my family of 5.

Tipper, your gardens are so beautiful and lush!! I love your morning glories and the blue ones are my favorite. When I went to the garden with my grandmother as a child I would love seeing them in the corn. Your corn is coming up great! Thank you for taking us along to see your garden. 😍

Keep your mullein plants!..spread the seeds you'll get in the areas where other things dont do well...they grow normally in areas where you would think nothing could live...at least up here in the Northeast! Dried finely chopped leaves make a lovely tasting tea! Great for LUNGS

Tipper, it's hard to believe your garden is already so lush. Doesn't seem that long since you and Matt got it all planted. I'm glad you're enjoying this growing season so much. And that Granny is doing so much better. ♥️ About the deer, I don't grow veggies, but in my tiny flower beds, both shiny things moving around and human hair scattered on the ground seemed to work. Also, if you haven't already, check with your Co Extension office for suggestions. Much love to all the family, prayers for all, and thank you for including us in your life.

I can really feel your enthusiasm about your garden. Makes me look at situations with a different perspective. Garden looks great. Maybe you can figure something out to get the deer to leave. Thanks for sharing!
