Seeing the Terrapins brings back memories! When I was a child in the '70's I used to play with Terrapins when we visited my grandparents in Oklahoma (I'm from IA). Also, black raspberries are my absolute favorite! My grandma used to make black raspberry pie and black raspberry cobbler every summer. They were so good! Good luck with the darn squash bugs!

Blackberries use to be everywhere, especially close to the railroad tracks out in the country. Now it has grown so big where I use to live, you can't even find the tracks anymore😂. We have Agarita Berry bushes where I live now. They are a little tiny red berry with a pit, so jelly is about all you can make with them, but it is good. Nothing better than a Blackberry cobbler...yum yum! Beautiful video❤❤. Ok Corrie, keep walking! Maybe that will help coach Baby out!❤. Have a great week! Love listening to Paul play anytime!❤. Tipper, I'm so happy you found those wild Raspberries! We used to walk the dirt road we lived on as kids and pick n eat all we could find. Mama would walk with us to get them to so she could make a cobbler like you did. They're so good! I have them all a long the side my long dirt driveway up the ridge and my Grandson walks down to get my mail and always stops and eats them. I taught all my kid's n grandkids about things like this! There's also alot of wild blue berries up on the side of the bank and into the woods! They're little but not are they Good along with the blackberries n wild strawberries! Y'alls Corn shore is looking pretty! You'll have a good sweet Corn Crop this year and I'm tickled to death for ya'll. Pops old Corn Field! I remember the story behind it that you told us about! Paul sure can pick a guitar! Of course we all grew up on that song, "Jesus Loves Me!" I used to sing it to my kids, nieces and nephews and taught them all to sing it. Even my younger brothers and sister's with me being the oldest out of the lot of us. I have one older brother but I was next and felt like I was older than him most of the time. I know I was smarter because I did everthing for them all. Mama depended on me to do things which I never really played very much except with the younger ones to keep them outta Mama n Daddy's hair and outta trouble, All the while I was washing out diapers or breaking beans or something! There was always things to do with our big family! Your flowers are so beautiful. My Daughter the out a mixture of Wildflowers n Poppy Seeds early in the Spring and the rain washed alot of them down to the corner of the yard and they've made a Beautiful big patch of flowers down there! God knew where they would do best and made that Flower Garden on the corner with the big rocks mixed in. It's beautiful with all the different colors and shapes of blooms! How's the baby doing! I'd love to see y'alls precious little man. I know he rules the house and all ya'll.. Lol. It ain't long til the other one will be here. Ain't long at all... I know you and Matt are just tickled over them soon to be 2 little baby boys! I know ya'll are! Oh, your Pesto looked so good! I've never thought about doing it that way! I'm gonna hush talking Sweetheart! Much Love and Prayers to you all... God Bless. 🙏🙏❤❤🔥🔥🇺🇸🇺🇸

Tipper here is a little trick I learned from my mother for picking berries so you can use both hands. Use a belt around your waist, hook it through the bale of the bucket or an old pair of nylons tied through the bale of the bucket and hung around your neck. Frees up both hands to pick berries with. Mom would fix us kids up and off we would go to the berry patch. Works like a charm.

Hello Tipper. I have another suggestion for your garlic blooms. I just saw Becky on Acre Homestead blend them with a little oil and then using a small ice cream scoop she scooped them out onto a baking sheet. She froze them like that. When they were frozen she put them into freezer bags and kept them in her freezer. When she needs garlic in a recipe she just uses one of the garlic “pucks.” As it gets hot it disolves and is basically a substitute for garlic. I thought of you when I saw this. She has a lot of good tips. Take care. ❤️

A garlic pesto! How wonderful ❤. I'm guessing you're pulling the bloom stalks before they bloom to get the garlic cloves to grow bigger? My grandma Hilda used to cut the stalks back and slice them really thin, then put them in her recipes. She would also let a few to bloom and dry them . Added them to stew or when making sausage; the rest she'd sprinkle around the garden. Said it kept some of the pests away.

I love pesto !!!! I’ve made it with basil, just a hint of Parmesan cheese, pink Himalayan sea salt, pine nuts and avocado oil. Oh and fresh garlic cloves. You can use any but really bit it tissues the best with pine nuts. They are expensive but it would be worth it to try at least once just so you can taste the difference. I LOVE pesto sauce as a spread on taste or for sandwiches and of course, in pasta 🍝

We had the same bug as you a few years ago. I tried everything, but unfortunately it came back the next year. The only thing that worked was to let that garden lie dormant for an entire year. After that we had no more problems. Someone told us to do that. As much as it killed me to give up my garden for a year, it worked. Thankfully we had an overload of canned vegetables in the basement.

I have a couple black raspberry patches on my property as well the one patch has an abundance this year. Last year I bought two Pacific blackberry plants, and 3 elderberry plants. This year I bought 3 more pacific blackberry plants 1 elderberry and two Pacific strawberry as my local strawberry plants have just done nothing the last couple years. It's been hard on them with all the "extra" rain and weird weather. One of my friends /neighbors let me dig up some raspberry plants so hopefully I can find adequate sunshine for them all... Yes we love berries, especially berry pie and tarts, lol.

Pesto is also really good with spaghetti. Just cook your spaghetti and drain it and stir in a big dollop of pesto to cover the pasta.
