What are you most thankful for at thanksgiving? I was a soldier for 10 years during the Cold War. The thing that I’m grateful for are my little brothers and sisters that serve now and Heat. I lived in the cold for 10 years. Today I’m sitting in front of a wood stove in a small cabin that I just built. Give thanks to your veterans who give you the day to have a thanksgiving with your family because they are not at home to do the same

Hi Tipper, it's Jackie here from the UK. You and your family are so down to earth, hard working and just genuinely nice people, you really deserve the success of your channel. Sometimes, if I've had a bad day (and a good day!) I come and watch one of your videos, it kind of puts things in life into perspective. Btw, even though we don't have Thanksgiving in the UK (wish we did!) Happy Thanksgiving for tomorrow to you and your family.

Hello Tipper. When us Brits refer to bread we always mean the yeasted stuff, we don't do the biscuit or the cornbread thing although I am very fond of the latter but it is an occasional treat rather than a regular staple. I have made a huge amount of bread over many years and yeasted breads freeze very well and for short term storage freezing is an excellent way to get ahead of yourself for busy times.

I made my gluten free Hawaiian rolls today! 2 batches ! About 4 dozen! And they are so good no one knows that they are gluten free! I got the recipe on the blog Let them eat gluten free cake! I go exactly how it says! Making my or her flour blends! These can be frozen too before you bake them just the same as regular rolls! Just have to let the rise before you cook them! And these are good for any kind of roll ,like cinnamon! They have lots of sugar and butter but I use plant butter. Anyways Happy Thanksgiving!

I finally got around to trying this roll recipe. I am at my sister’s house and she didn’t have quick oats but she did have maple and brown sugar instant oatmeal packets. So, I took a chance on using those and eliminated adding the brown sugar the recipe called for. They turned out delicious! The maple flavor was very slight and the kitchen smelled amazing! I think I’ll do this every time I make these. Thank you for sharing your recipe!

Thanks for the great recipe. My mom made the best yeast rolls. I remember her dumping a bag of flour in the big cast aluminum roaster. She would make a big hole in the middle and a ridge around the edge. Put salt on the little ridge. Poured the yeast mix into the hole. She would mix the yeast (and I guess water or milk) little by little slowly incorporate the flour with the salt on the edge. After the initial rising, she would form the rolls by squeezing the dough between her thumb and fingers. Those rolls were amazing. Happy Thanksgiving!

I have used this recipe for rolls, bread and even king Cakes. Everytime has been really good. One thing I always do differently is proofing in the refrigerator for 24-48 hours when I have time to finish. This is a standard for me, but in a pinch I will do the 4 your route. The overnight proofing gives me more time, but also makes tastier rolls. I also converted the recipe to grams which makes everything easier if you have a scale. My high precision scale cost me less than a set of good measuring cups and spoons. Water is pretty stable, but flour is extremely variable. All said. I hope you give this one a try. Watch your waistline. This one is good. Sorry if I over posted tips on your channel

Tipper, I’m gonna make those rolls! Now, I do have a fantastic yeast roll recipe passed down from generations, however my recipe takes apprenticeship (lol) to master, i only make them Christmas & Easter because it is complicated. In fact these yeast rolls are likely the most difficult thing I’ve ever learned to bake. For every day rolls or rolls cooked more frequently, the recipe you got from Southern Living seems like a tasty & easy one. I’m gonna make some rolls from it and take a little dough to see how your recipe cooks up as a loaf bread. I don’t particularly like store bought bread & make most of our daily bread. I have many loaf bread recipes my husband likes. I love to fix what I call “ sweet bread” which is a fruited bread using any fruit. We like banana bread, but mine is different I developed it. Apple bread as well… I also cook squash breads using summer squash Zucchini or any of the winter squashes. Blessings, Allison 🧤🧣🧦❄️

Ms Tipper, thanks sooo much for this roll recipe ! I LOVE to make bread and this is, like you said, the BEST roll recipe. My goodness it had me puzzled with making oatmeal and adding it in. I cut the recipe in half, it is just my husband and I, and it made 10 lovely rolls. I put 5 rolls in the freezer and left 5 out for breakfast this morning. Well it is almost supper time and I just took the other 5 from the freezer ! ! ! They are so moist and delicious. The only thing I did different was I didn't bake them as hot or for as long. I did 350° for about 10 - 15 minutes until they reached 195° internal temp. I so enjoy your channel and the girls channel. ((hugs))

My dad would milk the cow and the thick layer of cream was always so good to use in many ways. Mostly, butter.
