…… Born and raised in Atlanta. I’m a 55 year old black gentleman. Seen a lot come and go! Honestly, I hated gentrification, but I have to admit, I can’t believe how much Atlanta has grown and changed, and I love it! I hate the cost of living now, but hopefully it will get better! This is a beautiful video production! As a native Atlantan that has traveled the world, no matter where I visited, it always made me appreciate Atlanta even more! I have always loved living here, and still do! But BY FAR.., out of all the skyscrapers and amazing growth.., my absolute favorite thing in all of the changes… IS THE BELTLINE! I am crazy about the beltline! And not just the main circle.., but all the connecting trails everywhere as well! The beltline is a home run!!! The gentrification overshadowed everything for a long time, but hopefully the real laid back spirit of southern charm will dominate as the prevailing culture! Southerners speak to each other, we check on neighbors, we are courteous drivers, we say please and thank you, we hold the door open, we give hugs, we respect adults and elders, we don’t use profanity in front of children and older people, etc… that’s the southern way! We understand that people in the north don’t speak, don’t make eye contact, stay to themselves, can be rude, disrespectful etc as the norm… but you’re not up north.., you’re living in the south now.., so chill out.., relax, calm down, slow down… maybe you newcomers will get it after a while.., we native Atlantians certainly hope so! There is a lot of money and business here! No need to come with the criminal minds or toxic behavior! You can make legit money in Atlanta! Start a business, change your life, get to know business people around you.., Atlanta is that place! All the crime, gangs, and hustlers from other cities.. just know you’re in Atlanta now.., it’s not cute.., you look ignorant and out of place here bringing all the toxic drama. Just stop it! You’re in an entrepreneurial city, a professional city, with amazing people.., leave the old craziness behind.., and start you a brand new life here in Atlanta.., it’s the right place! We must keep it that way.., it will take all of us to make sure that happens!… Meanwhile.., welcome.., we hope you love and appreciate Atlanta as much as we do!….
@TampaAerialMedia5 ай бұрын
Very well said, yea I agree the Beltline is awesome.... Alot of the same thing with the gentrification is happening in Tampa now... You were spot on, thanks for the comment

Way to stereotype "the North"!! I grew up in the Midwest (Ohio) and the people are good people. I honestly don't know who you're talking about because even New Yorkers - who do have their own style - are friendly!
@jatall27974 ай бұрын
@@sandraleigh4023 So we are going to just pretend that the culture of northerners is not its own thing very different from the south? As a southerner in New York, Chicago, DC etc.. (for example) I would randomly speak to people, be friendly, make eye contact etc.. and people would look at me like I was from outer space! My friends from there scolded me and told me don’t ever do that with strangers etc.. I learned very quickly that was a big no no! Northern culture and southern culture is not the same in many areas.. that is just a reality. I don’t care where you live, there is always a culture, a way you move and flow within a city.., a way you engage people, different social etiquettes etc .., that are not stereotypes.., they are facts. But when you learn the culture.., you acclimate.. and it’s not personal. Those are called social graces!
@sandraleigh40234 ай бұрын
@@jatall2797 Now don't put your bias into my words! The inferences, at the least, in your comment is that southerners are all these nice law-abiding people and all the problems were brought here by "damn Yankees". I know that's a bit exaggerated, but I don't think you even want to see your negative bias. Anecdotal experiences don't count... Enjoy the south - you probably shouldn't venture outside of it.
@jatall27974 ай бұрын
@@sandraleigh4023 I have traveled the globe several times, and not for work, but on vacations, just because I wanted too. I just spent a whole month in South Africa. So are you suggesting that southerners are all backwards, dumb, ignorant, unsophisticated, untraveled, and don’t know nothing? Are you being bias? I actually learned a lot from northern culture that I applied to my life living in the south. So sorry you have a chip on your shoulder. At age 13 I would spend my summers in Chicago with my brother in laws family. Had aunts and uncles in New York, Jersey, DC, Philly etc.. so I’m well aware of what I’m saying in my cultural references. I’m so sorry you feel personally attacked! I don’t know you! I also know my statements are not inaccurate! I also never suggested that the South was some kind of flawless utopia, as a black man in the south, I’m very well of aware of the many skeletons of the southern way of life, I live it everyday, I grew up in it. I have traveled many places and the culture of every region is not the same!

@TampaAerialMedia yes please to Hilton Head. It's one of my favorites, and I think you'll enjoy plus you will probably find some hidden gems that I've yet to discover. They have tons of bike trails, and the beaches are nice and usually not too crowded. Usually. Lol. I try to get there every year. Not sure how long you're staying but Beaufort and Bluftton are filled with interesting areas too. Particularly the Gullah community. We don't ever take our fur baby, but I see lots of furry friends when I go so you should be just fine. Everything is kind of tuck and hidden so at night, it all looks the same. Have fun and keep up the good work. I love your films, and GA should probably pay you for the ones you did for us. Savannah was great, now ATL (plus Dawg Nation)🤯🤯. If you hit the Islands (Jekyll and SSI), you will have us slam dunked.

Yeh, the next-door-neighbor, she recently lost her lovely Bella of 19 years too, it's nearly unbelievable the amount of puppies called Bella that have passed recently. I cannot believe it. I mean there's even an Emma Stone show, where she get around, acts stiff-shit style and her name is Bella too, it is a practical BELLA-THON, and there's no end in sight. Bella you were a miniature poodle, but a literal giant in puppy terms, there's is no replacing that white mini poodle, and dying in the spectacular Georgia Tech Bulldogs Stadium, who would have thought?? Long Live the Bulldogs.

The idea for the beltline trail originated form a Masters Degree thesis from a Georgia Tech student, but wow, how the trail system has grown. We have an extensive network of trails throughout the metro for walking, running, bike riding, or just enjoying nature without having to worry about traffic. The beltline is the most urban. Most of the others wind through forests or along the banks of streams and rivers.

I don't know if you know but, the antebellum plantation house on historic square at Stone Mountain Park caught fire and burned down back on November 14. So sad. It was beautiful to look at. Stone Mountain Park is right by my house and I grew up going there for laser shows in the summer and hanging out with friends. Now I love to go on weekends and hike the trails with my pups. Did you ever get to check out The Varsity? I grew up near Stone mountain and we all know The Varsity. It's a staple in Atlanta. They don't serve anything healthy so I know it's not your style but it's fun. 50's style place with burgers, hotdogs and homemade fries and onion rings...

No I didn't, yea I should have. Noticed after I left Atlanta, that it is the world largest Drive-In I think

Someone can look at every single Atlanta-related video on KZbin and won't have the slightest clue regarding the fact that both, the 2nd Klan era, (from 1915-1944) and the 3rd Klan era (from 1946-present) began in Atlanta. Yet, it's like uncovering top secret information to be aware of that probably because Atlanta's always been very image conscious on racial matters.

I would not say that Buckhead residents wanted to break away from the city. The movement to allow Buckhead to even consider it came from outside of Buckhead and Atlanta.

I'm new to your channel and really enjoy the great videos. Sorry about Bella. I travel with pets and that's one of my fears. What do you do when your pet passes away while traveling? Both of you were blessed to have each other.

Randy, can I tell you a quick story? I was there at Centennial Olympic Park the night that bomb went off. I was a teenager then. Probably about 14 or 15. My dad and I were at the park enjoying just walking around and seeing the sights. At some point my dad decided we needed to head home to avoid the traffic. So when we got home and turned on the TV, the news of the bombing was all over the place. I remember saying "We were just there!!!" We were so lucky! But I can't help to think, did we walk by the bomber and not even know it? Could have! That's crazy to think about
@TampaAerialMedia6 ай бұрын
Wow that's quite a story, good thing your dad wanted to get a jump on traffic, yea you may have walked right by him, wild.

My sister used to live in Marietta. So many things to do there. I will pass though the traffic is worse then the Texas traffic i drove thru this past summer. Awesome video Randy. I'm sending that quote to the Chiefs MVS. Son you have a good motor but your hands are not on the steering wheel. MVS is the Chiefs deep threat. He couldnt catch a ball if you handed it to him. Later Randy & Bailey.

@@TampaAerialMedia Randy very doubtful either team is getting past Baltimore and San Francisco or Philadelphia or even Dallas. I see Baltimore running away with everything barring an injury.

The suburbs are one of the best but the transportation system is good in terms of you can get off and on the off ramp exit to any suburb quickly

Atlanta has long been known as a city in the forest but unfortunately new home developers, starting in the late 80's started clear-cutting lots instead of preserving trees so we are beginning to lose the tree canopy in newly built suburban areas.

Even though the neighboring counties of Cherokee, Dawson, Forsyth, and Pickens, were together in 1990, inhabited by 154,000 white residents and only 1,900 black residents, it remains largely unknown that located in northern Greater Atlanta, was a racially hostile, Quad-county "Sundown Region" despite Forsyth's notoriety.
