Celebrities Who Johnny Carson Banned From the Tonight Show
Johnny Carson was the undisputed host of The Tonight Show for 30 long years. As its host, it’s his job to make his guests comfortable, but not all guests were given the privilege to return to his segment. But that’s only to his welcomed guests; you see, through the years, the comedian has accumulated quite several personas that he refused to return to his show.

I would have enjoyed this had a real person narrated, unfortunately all of these AI voices/narrators ruin the entire video with their monotone, mispronounced method of speech. I'd much rather hear a real person do the narration.

For those who can't tell... the narration for this piece is computer-generated, so it mis-pronounces several words, and its inflections add to the hit-and-miss. This outright butchers this piece in places. Are pro announcers really that expensive to hire? As for the actual subject... Carson's hit list... some of these are legit real, while others are over-played or outright wrong. Johnny had emotions and an ego like anyone else, and his long career at the top gave him plenty of influence and leeway with networks, that he used. Even legends have flaws.

There's several videos to pick from, with the thumbnail stating, " guests banned from the Tonight Show, by Johnny himself. Could this just be, back then, Johnny's inner hatred of others, because he deep down inside, hated himself? Maybe that would explain the drinking years Johnny went thru? Going thru a few wives along the way?

Having grown up with that show. Carson didn’t shy away from telling the audience that a person was banned from the show. Most of the time he would be polite about it and just say they were to busy. Bob Hope was not having failing memory at that time. He just couldn’t stop doing old jokes. Carson got tired of that. He even said so. He never Banned Hope though. Bob Hope was a busy man and just didn’t book himself on the show. Carson had a problem with Howie Mandel being a germ a phobe. He refused to accommodate Howie’s rules. Frank Sinatra also was never banned. He was a busy man and didn’t like flying out to Burbank and then hoping back on the plane to do another show. Sandra Barnard was just too crass towards the end. Her comedy was not what he liked. When he asked her not to do certain things on the show she did them anyway and the audience tuned out, he lost ratings. As such, he stopped booking her. He made no effort to hide that and told people the next night she would not be back. Almost the same with Wayne Newton. Wayne always had bazaar rants on the show. He wasn’t funny the last time I saw him on the show was when he claimed to be a direct descendent of Pocahontas. His weird rants is what got him banned. Joan Rivers knows full well why she got banned. He felt it was a betrayal from her to compete with him on the late nigh comedy show thing that was happening back then. She was a contender to take over from him when he retired. She started her own show and that hurt him. Then she went on the Arsino Hall show and that pushed him over the edge.

He's known at the time to be very abusive to women his wives and consorts and wasn't faithful to his wives and why they were paid well for his infidelity. People say he was a classy guy but far from the truth. He had hush money. Just wish someone with guts would come forward and tell the truth. Yep, politics will get people worked into a frenzy pretty fast. I've seen some "Trump Derangement Syndrome" emotional outbursts. Seems late night shows are all about politics theses days so no need to watch them. I get my political fix watching MSNBC, CNN and FOX. I don't really need to see a repeat on Late Night shows. Maybe that's why Late Night can't hold a candle to Carson's old shows. Alienating 50% of the public doesn't make for outstanding ratings. Carson knew it and wisely avoided the pit fall. It made him the KING of Late Night.

Nobody knows what really happened except those in play. The explanations given were more than plausible and very believable. It was a different time back then. People didn't brawl in the streets, they simply avoided their rivals, unlike today. Today we have preambles of foreplay before the battle...AOC AND MTG for example. I wish I could say this is what 'civilized' barbarism looks like but it just can't command a serious state from such an absurdly laughable position of pure and unscathed mockery of FOOLISHNESS! How undisciplined do you have to be in flaunting your ignorance? I know ridicule, bullying and mockery are 'common' in today's age but THAT display in Congress was BEYOND unconscionable and CERTAINLY uncommon --- even among us commoners. RANT OVER.
