Yes ! Computer rubbish voice. Clickbait. I am very glad he did not take the part of Gandalf. Ian was perfect for the part. There is no scandal here. His views in his younger days on giving women a good smack was par for the course for working class Scotsmen of that time. Sean was NOT the star of the James Bond films. In watching them now, you see just how cheap and nasty the films were with some terrible scripts and that Sean's acting was a bit wooden in places. The star AND THE SAVIOUR of the James Bond films was John Barry with his superb music. I think, with the jazzed up noise that passed as film music of the time, the first two films would have sunk without trace and there wouldn't have been a Goldfinger .... not by Broccoli and Saltzman anyway. In my view, everyone of the films for which John wrote the music were enhanced by him .... Cry the Beloved Country, Out of Africa, Hanover Street, Somewhere in Time and many, many more. Someone persuaded me to join her and her daughter to see Dancing with Wolves just after its' release. I didn't know what it was about and I wouldn't have bothered otherwise but within seconds of the music starting, I sat up and took notice. I turned to her and whispered, "This is John Barry". She replied, "No ... Kevin Costner". In one way, she was right and Kevin did an excellent job .... it was a beautiful film.... but I could have just shut my eyes and listened to the music.

I didn’t hear anything about him that changed how I’ve perceived him. Although, what a hell of a burden that would be, to have to go through life with everyone saying, “there goes James Bond,” I think I could find a way to suffer through it. And as far as the movie, First Knight, supposedly being one of his flops, I don’t agree, in that it’s one of my favorites movies, and I can’t imagine anyone not liking it. It would be like someone saying that they hated the movie Shane, or the Sea Hawk, with Errol Flynn, and would definitely be the kind of people who had a completely different perception of reality than me.

I have had the unique opportunity to meet many "famous" people in my lifetime. Among them was a good friend of Sean Connery's, Igor Cassini, the brother of the famous clothing designer, Oleg Cassini, Jacqueline Kennedy's clothing designer. Igor and I met due to our sons attending school together and becoming close friends while we were living in Roswell, Georgia just north of Atlanta. One day when Igor and I were having lunch together at his home (he cooked by the way and he was a good cook!), I asked him about a photo on his mantel of he and Sean Connery, and also he, his brother Oleg with President Kennedy and First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy. Igor had known Sean Connery for many many years and would often play golf together. Igor told me about their times golfing together and how the ladies were very taken by Sean Connery. Sean's wife, a petite French lady as I recall, was aware of the women's attraction to her husband, but she took it in stride and was not really bothered by this fact. When a particular lady would show a keen interest in Sean his common invitation to her was, "Would you care to meet later for a coffee"? Hahahaha! This according to my friend Igor. Since my dear friend Igor has since passed, as is Sean Connery, I think that the "statue of limitations" has since passed and I can share this little secret. Igor was a very kind gentleman, was not ostentatious in the least and simply "a good guy". He had 2 rather young sons by his young American wife at the time, but I will not reveal their names. Igor was a published author who wrote under a pen name. He actually did a service for the U.S. Government at the request of President Kennedy by traveling to Cuba and under the guise of playing golf with none other than Fidel Castro! A plan to observe Castro's daily routine. So, this long winded narrative is only to demonstrate that Sean Connery was an everyday human being who was a fortunate, but self made success story.

Defamation - Defamation is a communication that injures a third party's reputation and causes a legally redressable injury. The precise legal definition of defamation varies from country to country - To prove a successful defamation claim, the plaintiff must show the following: (1) the defendant published a false statement; (2) that defamed the plaintiff; (3) with the requisite degree of fault regarding the statement's truth; and (4) damages, unless the statement constitutes defamation per se.

@@daveofyorkshire301 Yeah, I knew what it was supposed to be, that's why I corrected you. Logic. If I hadn't known what it was meant to be I couldn't have corrected you, now could I. And you knew you were wrong when you pretended you were right, but lacked the spine to admit it. And btw, there is no such word in the English language as "assimile". You were probably thinking of "synonym". And spellcheckers don't go by what you've already written. If you write a word that's correctly spelt then it'll pass the spellchecker, that's all. Spellcheckers check spelling, not context. Don't blame it on the spellchecker. It was you that got it wrong. And that's all I have to say to you. Have the last word, and see if you can spell it right.

Thank you for mentioning this classic Disney classic. I know Connery had acted in a lot of movies, but it was this film in which he was talked into doing his own singing of My Pretty Irish Girl that brought the young actor to the attention of Cubby Broccoli who was looking for an actor to play the part of James Bond in Dr. No. There was also a brawl between Connery's character and the town bully that told Broccoli this man could handle himself in fight scenes. I also got a kick out of seeing him play Indiana Jones' father in The Last Crusade. A great actor, to be sure, and glad to have watched this video.

I became a fan when i saw him in Thunderball. I was lucky to meet him once in Las Vegas and he was so nice and had a quick wit. This type of story is unnecessary and click bait. RiP Sir Connery, you are truly missed.

007 James Bond! and Dr, No will be names remembered by the world for a long time. History will give him the proper place he deserves. A talented man, who learned many skills to perform his main job. The vast experiences in life and the skills earned from laboring in reality had helped him to survive at the top level in cinematic industry. A hero of our times, the character born with us died when we came to maturity in life. Quite a good personality, obviously having many error inbuilt as everyone are having many. If it was Arnold Schwarzenegger, the former governor of California, the dark secrets might also be admired. A real Scottish, who had his own political though. Let it be!

I was wondering that myself. I'm old enough to remember the fact that he thought it was ok to hit women because it came up in the newspapers years ago. It wasn't a secret. His attitude on that put me off, not that I was a fan anyway. I couldn't stand the James Bond films either 😅 Good looking men that I've met usually think they are God's gift.
