Celebrity Cruise Ship, Liverpool UK, 7.9.22

I captured some great shots and footage of the Celebrity Apex Cruise Ship docked in Liverpool today the 7th September 2022.
It is the first time I have managed to capture footage and shots of this magnificent ship.

Ah, so great to see this class of ship in the U.K. - I was supposed to cruise on this before COVID ruined my plans, but hoping to get booked up again for next year. She looks amazing (as does Liverpool!)

the orange thing is referred to as the magic carpet which lowers to water level and is a dock to allow people on shore from the ship and there is a smaller boat that pulls up aside and takes people to shore.

that orange looking frame in the middle of the ship is actually a bar and its called the Magic carpet as it is suppose to go up and down when in port but not while people are on it, this ship is the sister ship to the Celebrity Edge which also has the same structure in the centre

Great video I was booked to travel on this ship but it all had to be cancelled due to covid crap nice to see it on the mersey. 😁👍🇬🇧

Hi Nick, great video. Just a small correction. Celebrity Beyond is the newest ship in their fleet, very similar to Apex in design. The orange section on the side is called the magic carpet and can drop right down to water level for use when tendering into a port, but is normally used as a restaurant and bar when at sea.

Hi Mr. Drone, I hope you and your family are well. Another gorgeous ship docked in Liverpool eh? (you never did answer whether Liverpool is now a cruise-destination, or whether these ships are docking for restocking/refueling/maintenance? Either of those things would be good business for Liverpool anyway, good business insofar as jobs, good business insofar as tourism, and good business insofar as goods and/or fuel. I don't know how long it's been, but I do like this design of using more of the bow section for internal guest areas/accommodation, and the slimmer accommodation block which isn't flush with the sides of the ship. The first ship I saw it on was Virgin's Scarlett Lady. It was a waste of space and income opportunity for peeps just to be able to stand with arms spread-eagle on the bow, and shout 'I'm the King of the World'. I do like that orange structure on the side, at a guess, I'd just say it was a seating area which gives panoramic views of the ocean. Being that it also looks as though it can have it's height altered up and down the different decks, I wonder if it can be used for anything else? Such as the loading or unloading of goods to the upper decks.
