I was a 4th grade teacher at Atkinson Elementary in Griffin Ga in the late nineties and Mr. Byrd had a daughter enrolled at my school. Mr. Byrd would come in and help with our annual Christmas plays and other events at the school. He was a good man im sorry for his loss. 🙏

I’m not sure if it’s the same daughter but his daughter followed in his footsteps and became an elementary school teacher, she’s also a dance director of a dance troupe that my own daughter danced in for years. When I tell you that my brother Thomas Jefferson Byrd is a gifted actor, I'm not lying. My introduction to him was in the movie "Clockers" and i was amazed. Even though his appearance in that movie was brief, it was very memorable. The scene where he stands before Peewee Love and asks him "What you doing out here? Your Mama know you out here?" And proceeds to tell him about respecting his elders. That particular scene was so gritty because his character was simultaneously conveying the mistakes he made in his own life regarding the direction it took from not obeying those who warned about disrespect. It was an abrasive way of saying: STAY OFF THE STREETS!!! When he grabs the young man by the collar and tells him "I'm your Daddy now." Absolutely powerful.

Great video! I did not know how accomplished and educated this man was! His stars ✨ were lined up perfectly! I wonder if the person who killed him if they even knew who he was? Not that it should make a difference. He would still be around today if this foolishness never happened.
