John James…… I don’t even know where to start. I had the biggest crush on him playing Jeff. In real life he seems like such a kind genuine man. So happy for him and his career and beautiful wife and family. I hope to see him in more projects. I am so glad he didn’t say he hated Dynasty, so many actors that get famous and say they hate being associated with a certain character . I feel t is a huge compliment that you were so amazing at it that you know have fans who admire you for it. Loved his stories. Fantastic interview. His stories.

So good to see an update with him. I didn't know he had auditioned for the character of Steven Carrington. I kinda wished he got the part🔥What an interesting and incredible career so far. He is one of the classic actors for sure. As for John's bio, I hope he does decide to go ahead and write it...and he needs to leave some blood on the page😘

16:46 it's funny he mentions production values because the lush glowing colours were part of what really drew me into Dynasty. Gorgeous cinematography. I have this theory that the best American TV of the 80s was like a last gasp of 1950s Hollywood. Same Technicolor look, same Hayes Code style rules, same actors, writers and crew sometimes.
@farrellmcnulty90911 ай бұрын
26:51 - Pamela Sue Martin's departure was the saddest thing to happen to the show - and disappearing, contracting amnesia, leaving the family to think she was dead, etc - tragic. Emma Samms was cute, pretty, beautiful, etc., but the Fallon character wasn't written in quite the same way. She didn't become Pamela Sue's Fallon until the final season. Up til then, she was virtually unrecognizable - if you didn't hear somebody call her "Fallon", you never would have known who this chick is. I like Emma Samms, but also symoathized with her because she was dragged into something she probably would rather have not lived through.

Personalities aside, I think George Peppard would’ve been better as Blake. He’s far more attractive and a better fit with Linda Evans. I thought John Forsyth was not at all attractive and he seemed more like Linda’s dad. Also Peppard would’ve given Blake an edge which was obviously missing until Joan Collins joined. Forsyth could not rival Larry Hagman as a conniving high powered executive.

I wish interviewers would ask questions not asked before . I also wish they would pick the brains and dive deeper into the behind the scenes of the show MORE than we normally hear of. The "Decline" of Dynasty was obvious when The Colbys was created -- it would be nice to hear about what the stars felt when the show was no longer fun.

James' big mistake, a rookie mistake, was humbling himself and introducing himself to "Mister" Peppard. He should have gone his own way and just treated him as just another co-worker - not interact with him until they had scenes together.
