The sweater was actually in reference to the time aspect, since it involves pilling, which is something that happens over time. I believe it is also a house code of who she is wearing.

I like the sweater concept but if her dress was darker and her makeup made her look pale and with purple lips, as if she had been in the cold for a while

I feel like so many people missed out on the time aspect of this met. They just went for florals. Which is fine, at least it’s on theme. But I really wanted to see some withering flowers mixed in with the normal flowers at least. Also would have loved to see a statue inspired look, since the characters in the book turn into statues. I think I would personally combine the withering plants with the statue idea and come up with a good look. Lana actually did a withered look, which is good. Another thing people could have done for the time aspect is use clothing that has a lot of wear and tear. That’s so easy to me. Also take inspiration from the time period of the book. Idk I guess I’ll just be designing met gala looks.
