When I discovered Melodyne and its ability to edit polyphonic audio, it was one of those “this is impossible” moments. I cannot imagine not having it. Even after owning it since maybe 2009 or so, I still am learning things it can do.

I just got Melodyne Essentials too and was so excited to use it (I’ve been using Waves Tune Real Time which doesn’t let you manually edit pitches), but when I edit the pitch of a note, it changes the timbre of my voice and more importantly creates clicking and popping artifacts that I can’t seem to get rid of😣🧐🫣 Anyone else experienced this and found a solution? I’m not seeing this talked about a lot so I’m wondering if I’m doing something wrong. I’m still learning producing/mixing and am using Ableton 11.

I am using Mixbus 32C version 8. I added Melodyne to the vocal track. I click on the track to open the Melodyne UI and nothing is displayed in Melodyne. The grid that Rich shows at the start of the video is completely blank for me. For a beginner tutorial, it would have been useful to discuss what you have to do to get the waveform to appear in the user interface. After 30 minutes of trying, I get nothing and I am stumped.

When I'm editing notes, using the arrow tool, trying to select a note, the tool keeps switching to the double arrow with the circle in the center and won't let me select the note. Very annoying..how do I stop the program from doing this...it really slows down the editing process..

Hello, I keep running into an issue where I’ll sing a bass note for a full measure but when I put them in melodyne it shows the grid wrong and each note is 1 measure plus a half measure and notes are starting on beat 3. Sometimes it line up like it should and others it keeps extending it

Sometimes I can tune a note better, using the pitch transition tool between a note and a sibilance. Could this cause any problems?

I tried to use it in Bitwig, but when I record audio into it I get a completely different view. Instead of the piano role view it shows me a view with + / - x semitones. How do i switch it to the piano role view?

In the menu, you have a few options under Options > Pitch Grid > Pitch Background. Set it to ‘Keyboard’, for example, for a piano roll view.

hey, uh.... very dumb question, but, how do you get Melodyne to actually play the track you imported....? I bought Studio, and nothing will play. I don't have a DAW yet, but I didn't need one on Essentials. ANY Help, I checked the shortcuts under preferences, and it said press Return. Did nothing. Of course I pressed the play button, I control A selected the entire audio... pressed play, tried to move a sound up and down to see if it automatically played the note... No... NOTHING.... is there any kind of setting or mode I have to have it in to play it?

Melodyne doesn’t have a MIDI input option. It’s designed for manual editing of notes.

@@celemony.......... i did a tuturial for melodyne many years ago i think it was called "core melodyne 101" and i was able to find the button it was in a top rightish menu at the top of the screen... like 3/4 of the way right on the screen at the top is the menu , ... and then it is like 3/4 of the way down the menu..........i dont have melodyne yet so i cant figure out what this button is........but im not going to buy melodyne unless i know that it has the button because that is my primary use for it.............
