I am a 64 year old homeless lady who sleeps in the N and/or Q trains and eats at soup kitchens when stretching my food stamps becomes a must-do necessity. A few years ago I had the pleasure of meeting Drew at the All Souls soup kitchen where she volunteered as a food server without telling anyone about who she was and without notifying the press behind the scenes in order to pull a publicity stunt as most do. Unfortunately for Drew I was the only one who recognized her and told others about her presence there. This wonderful person was serving us meals in a humble, discreet and professional manner as if she had done this before. After revealing her identity everyone wanted to take pictures with her. Drew politely and equally humbled accomodated all who sought to be pictured with her without deviating from her food serving tasks. When I told the nearby Starbucks manager about it she said..' oh I believe you..she comes here often...she lives across the street..she is a sweetheart and has a heart of gold'... I just wanted to bring this forth and give credit where credit is due... It is people like Drew who helped restore some faith in humanity...at least to someone like me who has to endure the indignities, the dangers and the humiliating effects of the homeless life on 24/7 basis without ever seeing any light or an end in this homeless tunnel
