Celeste expert movement: Five jumps [tutorial]

The tutorials I could find about this move were pretty bad, so I decided to make my own.
*EDIT*: Important point that I forgot to include in the video: YOU MUST BE HOLDING "CLIMB" THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE MOVEMENT for it to work. If you stop holding climb after your first jump, Madeline will perform a walljump and not a corner jump.

I was trying to do 1a dashless and somehow I managed to do this first corner jump, but I didn't know if I needed to hold climb and neither someone was specific about it nor I found a tutorial in my native language, but your explanation was really good and the description had my so searched answer!!! you can actually do the first jump without the corner jump. You can use the climb jump lower on the wall and still holding climb madeline will latch on higher, but you jump again. The second jump carries momentum from the first similar to the dash walljump used in the later parts of the game. The timing isn't too tight. I found it much easier than the corner jump.

i wish i watched this tutorial sooner, i wanted to do 7a with one dash and i had to do a corner wavedash (if thats what its called) and it was agonizing. i ended up beating it eventually and realized i wasnt even recording 💀

Funny thing is, I actually did this ny accident a few times. Then I wanted to do it intentionally and it worked on first try and again on the second try. So I thought this os really easy. But ever since then, I cannot do it any more. So thanks for the video, maybe I'll manage again now!

these are not spike jumps as you are not interacting with the spike. there is only one spike jump in the entire chapter

@@KillianDefaoite nah I didn't I only started a few weeks ago and I had just heard about a dashless run of 1a so I decided to see how it would go and I got past stage 2 pretty quickly, I wasn't really doing a serious attempt just a little look to see how hard it was

Same, do a jump from lower and it's basically the same as 5jump but requires a more precise position

That's not possible without a dash (or a very precise corner boost)

@@m1n3c4rt Yeah I think you're talking about a wallboost. I think there's a tutorial for it in the spring collab GM lobby but the tutorials there aren't great IMO. Unfortunately I can't record a tutorial on it right now because I am away from my recording PC.
