As someone who is into the celeste community for around a year now, i really agree with ya (i am so far in the grandmaster lobby) you should definitely check other mods too, while they are not as quality as SJ they are still really solid you have conqueror peak which is a intermediate map similar to glyph (which is an another good level) and then you have startup contest!, it is a mod pack with one lobby about beginner gameplay (with some techless intermediate maps) and finally, you have into the jungle which is a full campaign with b sides and even C sides with new mechanics and stuff, you should definitely check these out :)

2:55 ok so deathless berries are silver because SJ is heavily inspired by the 2020 spring collab mod, which laid the foundation for most of what you see in SJ. Spring collab had deathless and speedrun berries for each level, and they decided to make the speedrun berries golden instead of silver since it was way more difficult. The speedrun berries were super tight usually and didn’t really give any time for deaths anyway, plus you couldn’t use safe strats. Tbh I don’t know why SJ doesn’t have them but I’m glad because they were wayyyy too hard for me. Anyway yeah a lot of the things in SJ that don’t make sense are because it’s basically like a perfected version of the 2020 spring collab mod :)

More than a spinoff, Strawberry Jam is a completely original game. I've played every single map up to the Expert Heartside (I'm nowhere near as good to get into the Grandmaster difficulty) and the amount of quality and love put into every map, custom mechanic and music is beyond amazing! EDIT: Also _paint_ is definitely my favorite map in the entire collab. The story is heartwarming and incredibly relatable, the visuals are really beautiful, the music is really calming (and I love how it uses Madeline's leitmotif) the moving blocks and projectiles all being tied to the music is both fun and incredible in a technical level (considering it works the same way a cassette room does in the vanilla game and programing a music with progression as a cassette track is an absolute _nightmare_ to do), it has some pretty well hidden secrets and its npcs give it a lot of personality. The fact it is a _beginner_ map makes it even better since it guarantees even the most casual players that are not looking for some extreme challenge, but rather something more chill and relaxing will be able to experience that masterpiece ^u^

@@TheBlueElephant111 Yee I got that actually ^u^ Ngl the Celeste modding community has to be one of the most amazing ones when it comes to creating high quality mods, other examples like Conqueror's Peak, the D-Sides, Spring Collab 2020, Secret Santa Collab, Sunset Rise. Being either 1-chapter mods, entire campaigns or collabs, there's a lot of gold to be found in the modding community of this game and I love so much the creators of Celeste themselves are more than chill with it and even seem to play some of them every once in a while. There's literally an official stream of them playing Strawberry Jam from months ago iirc >w< EDIT: Also oh I had just watched your 2.2 reaction video and didn't notice it was the same channel lol

I loved this video! The audio was great and it was super fun to listen to. In terms of parts I particularly liked, there were a few moments I noted down. Firstly, I loved generally the audio and like the small movements the elephant does like at 1:00 and other places and the picture at 1:37 (and I love 6:45). Also the general structure & order of the video was well designed plus I felt no map you talked about 'overstayed its welcome' in the video. In terms of criticism, I felt that a lot of the images put on screen like at 0:42 and onwards had clunky and kinda slow transitions that maybe did not fit? idk? and also some of the images were a bit low quality but maybe thats just me. One of the only things I didn't like was most of the time when you show a video onscreen like at 1:17 it's off-centre, which really annoyed me for no apparent reason, like maybe it could be centred and the elephant character overlaid on top? But I don't really know what I'm talking about so it could just be too hard to do or just look bad. Overall, even tho I put a lot of 'negative' stuff down, again, I really loved this video, super fun to watch, and i just though i'd give some of my thoughts in general, i don't mean to sound condescending or anything at all. I don't know how far you have gotten but I hope you continue all the way through to GM Lobby! (P.S. at 2:10 you talk about celeste not having many pretty maps showing a picture of 118.71%, but i would argue there's so many pretty maps out there, particularly like Darkmoon Ruins, Into the Jungle & many more)

You may need to improve a little in other games until you’re good enough to try it :) It does start of really difficult. Btw there is assist mode which makes the game a lot easier if you want. You can turn it on when you make a new file.

it’s a hard game, even if the mods make it look free (“beginner”) be proud of your death counts! the more you die, the more you’re learning. this is true for celeste players of all skill levels; if you’re pushing the limits of your skill, you are supposed to die many times. above all else, never give up (unless you feel things are getting unfun, in which case stop and preserve your sanity, games are meant to be fun)
