Looking forward to the deep dive into all kinds of different strats that are possible with 2 dashes now, along with step by step tutorials for all of them. I was thinking of a seperate video series for all of the different checkpoints with 5-8 videos each, depending on the length of the checkpoints. Hope this helps and thanks for the video!

Worth noting that the cue for my setup can be covered by random decoration of the background like stars. Idk the probability for this to happen, but it can happen and I just didn't know about this when I posted the setup.

Since i am not the best speedrunner of this game i have one question: will the game reset my dashes to 1 as soon as i die once during the run? i wasnt able to test that yet since i am still not able to get high enough to avoid that dash trigger but when i used an infinite dashes mod just to see if it works i was able to get around the trigger and when i set the dash value to default i still had 2 dashes but when i died with that setup i only had one dash so im asking myself if that was just because my setup was weird or if that would always be the case.

if you die anywhere in the level you'll keep both dashes - i'm not sure how assist mode menuing interacts with the trigger but it's possible setting dashes to default overrides having 2 dashes. either that, or you didn't entirely go over the trigger or something

How do i set the spawn point to that block with 2 dashes so i can practice? i cant figure it out right now and its taking long getting up there everytime. I am still not sure how to get around the trigger it always feels like im doing it right but i end up having only one dash

I step away from celeste for a while (mainly because I couldn't find a way to update and also the out of memory exception) and come back to Madeline coating herself in oil to skip her falling out with herself.

Dont think it works on xbox because i was very able to fall off the edge in a cutcene

@@tristenarctician6910 well they did patch out a skip in the prologue because they didn't want people struggling on a frame-perfect trick at the start of the game

@@asdfoifhvjbkaos devs are hands off on the game now, said they dont plan on patching this. pretty indifferent on whether this is a good or bad thing for the level (i never have and probably never will run this level) but it's probably true that if this had been found closer to the initial release of farewell this would've been patched for better or worse

prologue skip isn't a great example tho, the devs are generally pretty inconsistent on what does and doesn't end up getting patched (bubsdrop for instance is a 2 frame trick at the mid point of the run that basically allowed 5B to be viable and caused a complete reroute of the category). this trick doesn't have anything frame perfect or even any 2 frame windows (with pause buffering, at least), it's just tricky movement. could see people feeling very differently about it if pause buffering wasn't in game though
