Johnny Pacheco stole the show with his dance moves 🤣 so cute. Our Queen Celia brilliant as always, I’m so proud of that woman. What’s great about Latinos is that we can be of any race but still share pretty much the same culture by Language and music, this was the Fania, Cubans, Dominicans and Puerto Ricans, the trinity of the Caribbean, viva la Salsa!, viva Celia Cruz! y viva nuestra hermosa cultura hispana.

The golden era of Salsa with the Fania AllStars, Hector Lavoe, Johnny Pacheco, Ruben Blades, Celia Cruz and many others that are now legends, please check Joe Arroyo - La Rebelion (No Le Pegue A La Negra) which is Colombian Salsa and for true African roots in Latin America react also to Grupo Kazzabe - Sei Sei Bei (La Parranda) from Honduras. Thanks for taking me back to my childhood memories as I remember this music being played at our house parties and my departed Mother embarrassing me by taking me out to dance as I was only 8 yrs old.................................Good Times, Good Times!

Celia is practically the matron saint of Cuba. She did this her entire life, until she passed, at her home, in New Jersey. At her own request, her remains were brought to Miami for two days, so the Cuban community could pay homage . I never saw anything as exciting as this video. I hope there's a dvd of this concert, I'm off to look for it. Damn, I got so high listening and seeing this, I'm still flying. Thank you for making me aware of it .

So much going on here. Johnny Pacheco ( Orchestra Leader-sexy thing) and his band were incredible. A young Hector LaVoe, who became a famous singer, in his own rite (played in the biopic, by Marc Antony in "El Cantante") is one of the back-up singers (glasses on stage left). This was a part of the festival of music for the Muhammed Ali vs. George Foreman Boxing match, in Zaire. James Brown, B.B. King, Miriam Makeba, Bill Withers...everyone was there. I posted the full concert, in case you or anyone may be interested. BTW: She and Patti Labelle did a duet on "Quimbara", too. Check it out.
