She's not a native speaker. Her work language is English, but she mostly uses French. As a non-native speaker myself I can tell you that when you try to get your point across you sometimes don't have the bandwith for articles because you're translating your thoughts while you're speaking. I have a degree in English philology and I teach English but when I have a chat with my friends this kind of mistakes aren't uncommon. And it doesn't matter as long as you're understood.
