FIY just so happens to be both commercially and critically acclaimed. Yes selling more doesnt always mean an album is better, but in rare occasions like this, it just so happened that the best album that year is ALSO the best selling one. Deal with it. And by "most music publications," of course those who reviewed the losing albums were obviously fans that's why they picked them as their best album. Of course, you wont expect a head-banging, tattooed rocker critic or a a gangster, hip-hop loving critic to praise a mainstream pop album by Celine. Of course they're gonna pick the "cooler" album or the more rebellious or controversial one. And "cool" does not always mean "quality" and "best album." Celine has never tried to be "cool."' I could also give you a dozen publications that praised Falling Into You. It's really a matter of taste. In the end, these "critics" do not vote for who wins in the Grammys. It's the votes of these artists' fellow musicians, artists, and people in the industry that matter. Not some "cool" publication or critic. PS; Besides, do these losing artists even have a career today? I have no idea where the hell they are now. Whereas Celine's longevity... well...she still sells records, still sells arenas, still gets praised by "critics."
