Really appreciate the detailed knowledge you share. I was curious what your process is for the cell dyed canvas on your wall. How long does it stay in the bed, and how do you clean the canvas. I would love to be able to make some for my non disc golf playing family.

I have made a tools similar to that, have you considered putting that jig into the floetrol and using it to make symmetrical circular rings? You would just put whatever colors you want in each ring, lift the tool, slide a paper plate underneath and let the rings merge together. Just a thought
@LilbotDiscGolf3 ай бұрын
That was the idea when I first designed that tool, and you can definitely try it. The issue I had was the oil jumped off the tool too easily

Hey man thanks a lot for the tutorial. Just one question - Can i just "refill" the squeeze bottles when I nearly emptied them or clean them first and fill completely fresh?
@LilbotDiscGolf3 ай бұрын
I just refill them but after a while they get some gunk in them and need to be cleaned

thanks for all the info! does using more/less amounts of dye powder affect the colors shade at all? or should just purchase more colors😅 tore my meniscus last month so learning these techniques is helping me stay connected to the sport i love. thanks!
@LilbotDiscGolf2 ай бұрын
Adding more or less dye will affect the saturation. If you add too much though it will cause your colors to bleed together

I'm just about to start dying discs and WOW, your work is impressive! If I don't have a heat lamp, do you suggest letting the discs sit in the dye for 24 hours?

For the hall cells can I use the 3 in one silicone instead of the acrylic silicone oil in the dyes
@LilbotDiscGolf4 ай бұрын
If you're talking about Halo cells then no. 3 in 1 doesn't do well for that

When using the poker/afro pick……. Are you going all the way to the pan or just breaking the surface? Great video and very informative!

With 3 in 1 silicone that does not matter. Either works

How do you get your flame scarlet lines to sit on top of the white? Are you adding more floetrol to the flame scarlet squirt bottle? Mine always sink pretty bad
@LilbotDiscGolf4 ай бұрын
In my experience it doesn't sink as rapidly as other colors. You could try warming it up a bit first

I built and flew fpv drones before getting into disc golf. Don't fly then much these days as I don't have room for all these hobbies, but I still keep around to fly from time to time.
@southpawcinema84664 ай бұрын
@LilbotDiscGolf I hear you, so many hobbies, so little time! I think disc golf and FPV can compliment each other well. I love it when I get opportunities to chase other people's shots 😎

If i dont have a heat lamp, how long should i be leaving discs to treat in the dye? Ive heard 24+ hours.

is your floetrol and water mixture not wrong? You filled some water first, then combined with "4oz" of floetrol by filling it to the line, but the water already present would offset that. So you likely had more like 3oz of floetrol no? Does the consistency change anything during the dying process, or is it moreso affecting pours and design layouts in the bed?
@LilbotDiscGolf17 күн бұрын
If you add too much water it can affect the consistency but I try use a minimal amount. It's not technically correct to the recipe sheet but that sheet is not something that needs to be perfectly adhered to.
