Thanks for this great lesson! I am new to the magical world of cello, and i would like to ask you, if you can make a similar video adding the arm modifications for all the other strings, especially for A...... Thanks in advance!

This video has been a revelation, it is superb and can’t tell you how grateful I am. My bowing has now improved enormously. Easily the best bowing video I’ve seen. Thank you !!!

Gonna add this to my practice. Even more on the a-string. Really having trouble to get that one in control, it has no mercy. When i record, the a-string sounds like similiar to a duck sometimes, especially if jump from c string to a. M-xmas!🎄

I have the same problem with the A string! Always sounds scratchy and just not beautiful…
@cellojourneyz2 жыл бұрын
@@joelleantonopoulos7774 Okay, i would recommend changing the A&D string to larsen soloist (medium) if you haven't. Bit expensive but worth every penny. They settle pretty fast and more you play with them better they sound. So don't beat yourself if you don't know the differece immediatly. They soften up nicely. Then do like 5min bowing excercise front of a mirror before practice. (long bows, right preassure etc..) This helped me and do the video excersice also! Have fun :D

This is a second visit as I have noticed with my new bowing that it is at times not 90° to the strings. Now to practice...🍧🌹

is it possible to play with a wrist brace?
@juliamorneweg5416 Жыл бұрын
On the left hand, it's actually quite a good exercise! :-) On the right it's problematic and probably not conducive to recovery from whatever injury led you to wear the brace in the first place.

The last teacher I had to dump was because he kept harping on how my bow was crooked AT ANYTHING I PUT THE BOW TO. The guy had no instruction on how to correct this! Quite appalled at his scolding at me from only having 3 lessons from this dummy. The guy is a professional cellist that plays at a metro symphony. My take away on this is NO MATTER HOW MUCH of a yo yo ma or a Du Pre a cellist maybe some just can’t teach.
