I have looked at so many tutorials on sewing a small pouch like this that I am just amazed at how wonderful you taught this project. Seriously, you are fantastic and you have an amazing gift of taking a sewing project that seems complicated look so easy. I cannot wait to cut my pattern pieces out tomorrow and sew this adorable project up. Also, I have never seen anyone sew a zipper in place the way you taught us to. First it keeps us from changing the foot out to a zipper foot. We don't have to worry about bumping the zipper pull because it is completely out of the way. Truly, I am just at a loss of words of how excited I am about this video. Many thanks to you for your kindness in sharing this beautiful project.

Aloha all y'all... as well as Yoan... I've been hovering around and over your channel for a couple of months... and finally decided to drop in and look around a bit... I'm absolutely overwhelmed with the selection and variety of your offers of projects that are fun and easy to make... * * * This cellphone pouch looks like a simple enough project for my beginner skills and would make a wonderful addition to our silent auction fundraiser coming up later this year (2021) during our high school reunion... (wink) I'm thinking of adding your lanyard to it so a person might carry it around the neck or even as a cross-body little pouch/wallet/purse... * * * Yes, I have subscribed to your channel and will continue to scan your channel for the quick, fun projects that might boost a few auction bids at our reunion... * * * Thanks for sharing your passion and interest over sewing with the rest of us... as well as creating such wonderfully impressive, yet simple to make, projects with all of us beginners. * * * Until that time. . .

Great video. I'm new to zippers so I'm a bit curious about what happened right after you cut the excess zipper off, at around 5:37, where we see what appears to be a couple of thick threads over the top of the zipper teeth, on the left hand side of the zipper. Could you explain what this is and if it's necessary? Thanks!

I want to comment that one of the things I really appreciate about your patterns is that you IDENTIFY which is Fabric A, Fabric B, etc. I get frustrated with patterns like this that have multiple fabrics and only say "main fabric," "contrasting fabric" etc. and you're not sure from looking at the photo which is which.
@YoanSewingStudio2 жыл бұрын
So glad you can follow along with the pattern ❤️

Are the measurements for panel 4 correct? I’ve cut and recut and remeasured and panel 4 is 1/2” too long when attaching to the pocket piece
@YoanSewingStudio3 жыл бұрын
the measurements are correct if you use 1/4" of seam allowance when attaching the zipper, so the outer pocket (panel 1+zipper+2) should end up measuring 7", if you can't get exactly, just trim off panel 4 & 5 to measure the same as your outer pocket, or you may cut panel 2 about 1/2" longer. Many people have made this wristlet with no problem, but I understand that sometimes sewing zipper can be tricky, due to the layers of fabric, we tend to sew a bit off here and there (myself included).

Is your interfacing the same thing as your fusible fleece?
@dehobbyopositora.24653 жыл бұрын
Hello Yoan. Thanks again for sharing this project. I've started making and selling these phone pouches to a shop in my town. I need to upgrade from my old domestic sewing machine to a heavy duty one. What brand and model would you recommend? ( I know you have a Janome one). Perhaps a Singer Heavy Duty should be OK or something more industrial? Sorry for my English , I'm learning it yet. Thanks.😊
@YoanSewingStudio3 жыл бұрын
Hi Maider, my heavy duty one is Juki TL-18QVP, it is a semi industrial, and works like wonder, (it does only straight stitching though), I assume every machine that is labelled as "heavy duty" meant literally -I'm not sure. I suggest you visit your local sewing machine dealer, and (if allowed), try the machine and see how you like it, or read the reviews online or watch the demo videos (plenty on KZbin). Good luck with your sewing machine hunt. Thank you ❤️

First let me say I love all your tutorials. How can I make this cell phone wristlet pouch into a sling pouch?
@YoanSewingStudio4 жыл бұрын
You can do so by adding the strap anchor to the opposite side, then make a long strap instead (the length is totally up to you, sling your tape measurement around your shoulder to where you want the pouch to sit, then add 4" for clearance).

I love my bag, but am having trouble with the top zipper. When sewing the sides together, should the zipper be right sides together or wrong sides together. I can't get the zipper lie flat on the corners and have a tuck on each side. What am I doing wrong?

The zipper should be sitting at the lining side just like shown at about 10:39 thanks.

You can add the d ring tab to the opposite side, then make a crossbody strap. My upcoming upload would be a crossbody cellphone purse fyi (almost similar to this project but with an extra zipper pocket,) should be out within a week or so.
