Yeah.... wrt. the learning science part of these Genius games.... I also have a science background and I haven't played any of them, but I've been looking a lot of them in details and about the mechanics and it just seems like they exactly miss the important lesson about the topic they cover. It's like trying to make it a good game ends up getting in the way of having the mechanisms reflect the real science. It's like the "Periodic" game doesn't really teach you anything other than remembering a bit of trivia and the place of elements. It's like the "Genotype" game fails exactly to explain how genes work and why, say, fur colors isn't just like mixing paint.

I have to unfortunately completely disagree - I find them some of the most thematic games I've ever played. Sure, mechanisms to real life isn't 1:1, but most euros are about 0.000000001 to 1 and they still rock. Seems strange though to slam them without having played them and consumed the content, particularly as it comes with optional material explaining the science behind the game and aligning the themes and mechanisms.
