Really great review. This sums up the Wingspan universe nicely. My wife and I enjoy this for the same reasons-it is a relaxing game, easy to play, but offers a certain degree of complexity. We play with the base game, Oceana, and Asia. Since we only play with two, we can put all the components of the base game and expansions in the base game box.

Wingspan I want them Antarctica birds! Wyrmspan I'm not really sure, I think it's solid as is.

How much are you at the mercy of the dice throw?

Depends on how you play. In the base game, somewhat, although you can reroll the dice if all faces in the birdfeeder are the same (e.g. even if there is a single die remaining). That gives some leeway, plus you can trade any 2 for 1 resource. However, the Oceania expansion addresses this by creating a "wild" resource, and generally making the issue of getting locked out of specific food types go away.

Great video! I have a situational question: I recently picked up Asia as my first Wingspan game. I mainly play solo/2-player. Am I now able to purchase and play with Oceania combined with Asia? Would that expand it to 4-players? Would both expansions fit into the Oceania box? Thanks

Hi, thank you! You could now get Oceania, and play with it no problem. However, it wouldn't do much expect add the nectar, nectar dice, and the new birds. You couldn't play 4 player, because Asia only has goal tiles for duel, so you wouldn't really have the right "board" or (I think) enough normal goal tiles for there to be goals for each round.

I dunno, I feel like you're taking your level of the hobby and understanding of Wingspan and applying it to everyone. You say it's over the top, while others are watching it and asking even more questions about the minutiae because they want more explanation! There might be non hobbyists who have seen Wingspan in their supermarket and really appreciate us not assuming they understand everything.

This game was released in 2019, if your audience or lack there of wants to know anything about games or gameplay “ Wingspan”, there are thousands of channels that provide that same information, but with far less explanation or general understanding needing to be gone over again. If you made this video in 2019, I believe you would still deliver the same lifeless , boring attempt at teaching. Your content needs to pop, it lacks at being riveting or interesting. Understand, this is honest feedback, if you don’t understand this type of communication don’t quite your day job.

@@seaneckert487 I mean you understand this is a Buyer's Guide right? The point is to in depth explain what each expansion adds and how you can combine the content. It's not meant to be a snappy review people watch start to finish, it's meant to be a tool people dip into and watch the 4 minutes on Wingspan Asia when they consider buying it etc. There's only one other similar video I can find which is actually longer than ours in terms of covering everything Wingspan in one place. I'm not disagreeing the content is dry in places and I'm not debating the feedback, but I think you're missing the point. I also don't know why you think our ultimate goal is to "quite (sic) our day job" as that kinda comment turns feedback into antagonism.
