Is it wise to use a hemostatic agent if the bullet is still lodged in the wound? Since it might make it harder for the ER medic to dislodge it since he has to open up the wound again?

our opinion my be biased but the fact is that Celox Rapid is the fastest acting hemostatic gauze that can stop severe arterial bleeding with only 1 minute of compression. No other leading hemostat can do that - all other require at least 3 minutes of compression. In a tactical environment you can imagine benefits of that time saving. What is the expiry date for? Does the hemostatic agent stop working over the time or is it because it "just" looses its sterialety? Thanks for your videos and time. Has been a while since i learned this stuff.

Celox Rapid Gauze had a 5 year shelf life. The product's effectiveness does not diminish over that time period. more info on Celox here - www.celoxmedical.com

SkinnyMedic I've heard some mixed things about celox. Mainly it stops the bleeding in the field but after the patients or soldiers died of blood clots or heart attacks.. I have been buying quick clot since I heard that but can you elaborate on that maybe in a video explain or proving or disproving these incidents? Also maybe the benefits or compare celox to quick clot? If you could do that then that would be awesome! Thanks

Go with Celox Rapid. That and other Chitosan gauzes have been used in the UK by the military, ambulance service, NHS etc... for many years and I've never read or heard about any such problems. It works on cold blood, thinned blood, it's a great product, and you only have to compress for 1 minute before assessing again. Chitosan products I think are much more effective, studies have shown no significant difference according to statistical analysis, but it seems to be much better and that Celox Rapid is the best at the minute. As far as I know, no one in the UK uses QuickClot in any form.

Can you tell us where you heard those stories? Celox is safe, it is non-thrombogenic and there is no evidence that proves that Celox use can lead to embolisms or heart attacks. more info here - www.celoxmedical.com/na/faq/

#SkinnyMedic Thanks for the review, was wondering the difference between the two. Is there a danger of this losing its effectiveness if I left it in the get home bag I keep in the trunk of my car?
@CeloxMedical6 жыл бұрын
We have performed stability tests on Celox Rapid at storage temperatures of 60°C or 140°F with no detrimental results to product or packaging. The truck of your car offers dry storage conditions which is great for the longevitiy of Celox. However depending on where you are and how hot your car can get in the day you may need to check how hot your car gets - more info here: www.celoxmedical.com/na/faq/

I am not 100% sure but a good rule is 5 years. It will not become toxic just less effective as time goes on.
