Hi , I just have a question. Can we use connectors like to begin/ commence with, further, I addition to for task 1? And for task 2 too
@fasttrackesl11 ай бұрын
Hi Member, Yes. Transition phrases/ adverbial linkers can be used both in Task 1 and Task 2; but you need to be careful about using them in the right place and to serve a matching aim/purpose.

Thank you for awesome teaching. Where Can I find recent celpip exam practice tests 2023 online? Thank you again
@fasttrackesl Жыл бұрын
Hi there. Thanks for your feedback. I’m very glad you’re finding the lessons helpful. The best source for practice tests is the official CELPIP website (Paragon), where you can purchase sample test bundles.

Was hoping I could get some clarification on this? Over here it says "some valuable items" but then in function (1) it says "describe the item" indicating it's one item. So how do I know if it's one item or several items?
@fasttrackesl4 ай бұрын
Good question, Member. In this case, the prompt has apparently allowed for either one or multiple lost items, both of which are acceptable.

Is it required to write my name in email body since I am already writing it in the Signature section?
@fasttrackesl2 жыл бұрын
Good question. You’re not just stating your name when introducing yourself. You’re also explaining who you are: “My name is John Doe, and I’ve been shopping at your supermarket for 10 years.”

@@fasttrackesl what if I directly write , "I am writing to let you know that I have been shopping at your supermarket for 10 years. " ?
@samahmadi56532 жыл бұрын
You should use “I’m writing to…” in your opening to introduce the main reason for writing the email. Your main purpose is not to say how long you’ve been shopping at the supermarket. Make sure you follow the standard outline. I’ve explained everything in my CELPIP Task 1 Masterclass.

Can I write “ in connection with “ for any kind of email?
@fasttrackesl Жыл бұрын
Yes, but it’s best to use it for semi-formal emails. For informal messages, you can say “I’m writing about…”

How much band we can expect for celpip using this template?
@fasttrackesl8 ай бұрын
Good question. You see, at the end of the day, it’s not the templates and structures that will earn you your score, it’s how you use them. Let’s imagine two students: Student A and Student B are both at the intermediate level (B2), which means they have about the same range of vocabulary and make the same types of grammar mistakes. Now suppose Student A has learned the templates and structures while Student B hasn’t. As you can imagine, all things being equal, Student A is going to achieve a higher score because their response will probably be better organized and more logically structured, including all the features and details the examiner expects to hear in a standard response. Obviously, the outcome will depend on the students’ level of English and their ability to express themselves clearly and coherently, but there’s no doubt that learning these structures and templates can serve as crutches, training wheels or a scaffold, allowing you to stop worrying about how to start, continue and end your response and instead focus on the response features that can earn you a higher score! Hope this helps!

Which is the easiest between ielts and celpip
@fasttrackesl2 жыл бұрын
Great question. It depends on which skill(s) you’re having difficulty with. Most students would say (all things equal) IELTS writing is more difficult than CELPIP. The same people argue that CELPIP reading is a bit trickier than IELTS.

@Sam. Please find my email letter version. Feedback on this will be greatly appreciated. Dear Hotel Manager, I am writing to inform you about an item that I had left in your hotel on my recent visit to Vancouver. I am John Nash and I stayed in your hotel from June 8-10, 2022. Upon returning home, I realized that I had left my leather wallet in your hotel. It has a characteristic dark tan colour and contained 100 CAD in cash, one credit card and my driving license. May I also submit that I last used the wallet in the lobby room on the 10th while having a meeting with one of my former colleagues and used the same to pay for the snacks there. In the event item is found, I would appreciate if you may please inform me over the phone and kindly arrange for the shipment of the same to my Toronto address both of which are available with you. I will be able to pay for the same on the receipt of this valuable item. I am really sorry for the inconvenience caused to you and sincerely hope that the item is identified at the earliest. Thank you in advance for your kind cooperation. In sincere anticipation, John Nash

Hi there, Thanks for sharing your response. The comments section can be a great way to learn, which is why at the end of each lesson, I ask you to leave your response to a question by writing a part of your email response. This makes it easier for me to provide you with precise feedback (as you can imagine, providing feedback on a complete response requires an essay of its own!), and makes the comments section a very useful learning tool for anyone who needs to focus on a specific part of the response. Feel free to join the comments campaign and leave your answers for review! Happy learning!
