I love how the intro music is his cover of Scarlet by Periphery, which was originally a haunted shores song

The most beautiful sound I ever heard was a Celtic Melody played on guitar.I practice so that one day I will be able to capture the sound..

Northern Ireland is a great place to visit. Although it's a terrible place to live. Your song really captures the vibe of the place.

Thank you Mr. Dawes. I'm a very different guitarist compared to you, BUT, i really enjoyed this stuff because you said a couple of interesting and misunderstood things common in mind processing songs every respectable musician do. #1- harmonizing a melody from the BEGINNING of the creative process. #2- Add variations to it (especially rhythmics, in this case). This is nothing special, all right, i got it. What's special is THE WAY you go through this simple way of thinking. Very specific and systematic. I like it. Last but not least, I enjoyed your right hand beat (or kick or whatever everyone wants to call it, doesn' really matter). I liked it because is a clear reference to the Irish culture, very tribal if you pass me the word. It reminds me of history of that country and gives to the song a good, maybe sad soul (BUT GOOD rocky windy cruisy landscaping sounds i hear). I'll go check out your album. You're great! :)

The banging on the guitar does not enhance the tune. Totally unnecessary. Just my opinion.

I don't know about that percussion. As an exercise, sure, I can see it being a thing. But actually using it for a song? There's got to be some self editing here where you go "Hmm, yeah that doesn't sound good after all" but keeping it in there just feels like a forced gimmick.

i cant help but feel like if every percussive acoustic guitarist would just drop the percussive part they would be 6 times more enjoyable to listen to

Nearly every fingerstyle artist uses some sort of percussive technique, and even if it's only the occasional thumb slap. It's a huge part of this playstyle. It might not be for you. It's a bit like saying if every metal guitarist would stop using distortion they would be 6 times more enjoyable to listen to.

so I guess what your saying is that you appreciate the melody as much if not even more than the purcussive aspect of playing?

The percussive is something you might want to work on, it didn't sound like it was on point. Not here to judge, I can't play the guitar like you do.

Master Beernuts That's exactly what I was thinking. What time signature was that intro in? Sounds like he's just arbitrarily hitting the guitar. Regardless, still annoying. Also, lol at that guy that you pissed off by having a different opinion than him.

He does make pretty decent comment that the song doesn’t work rhythmically like you think it should. Left hand is 4/4 ish but really at about 70 and right hand kick is 6/8 I think. It’s a bit of a cinematic piece than a song
