That is astounding. Not just for one person to play such a long very active piece, alone, but to have two people playing it as a duet and not getting a note wrong, and then dance all around the stage. I am huffing and puffing and my heart rate is up, and all that plus then admiring the personal shape and fitness of them both. I may need to call an 🚑

Kaos Although they are accompanying each other, this style of music is considered "dueling" because they're both increasing in intensity with their solos, as if they're trying to outdo each other, when they really are dueting.

@cncmike8 жыл бұрын
Watch again and you will see the sound is not quite synchronized with the video through the whole song.
@76Chev4x47 жыл бұрын
Sorry John, you are incorrect. There are two things in play here, beyond your ample ignorance. The first is, these are STRING instruments... ELECTRIC pick-up STRING instruments. Unlike, say, a trumpet which only creates the tone while air is moving through it, a string continues to vibrate until it is physically damped or it expends the energy applied to it. In the latter case, particularly with electric pick-up instruments, you will continue to hear the tone for up to 15 to 20 seconds after the note is picked or bowed. This is what makes the wa-wa bar in rock and roll possible as it simply would not work.. hell, there would be no rock and roll for that matter, far too many tunes rely on that reverberation. The second problem you are facing is audio processing and amplification delay. This is NOT an instantaneous process, though there have been significant reductions in the delay since Dolby. GENERALLY an audio processing delay of 0.28 seconds or less is considered to be acceptable, and this recording is closer to the low end, perhaps 0.10 to 0.15 seconds. The reason it is out of sync is because it is a LIVE recording, as opposed to a "movie" sound stage production... there is no snap board for each "scene". As such the edit is done strictly by RECORD TIME which makes it extremely difficult, if not all but impossible to remove the audio processing delay. What's some funny ass sh*t is that most new TVs with any kind of audio "tricks", like surround, built in produce an audio delay closer to 0.35 seconds on many older "analog" shows... and you never even noticed it... try tuning two different TV brands to the same station and turn up the volume, one of them WILL be the "echo". But here you are, wearing your ignorance like a badge of honor attempting to discredit people who do daily what is a lifetime away from your capability...

Not sure who is playing it but you have to admit it is a nice tune to listen to. But I cannot help checking out position and finger technique to see how others do it. Habit I guess.
@michaelevans69209 жыл бұрын
I've heard "rumors" that even Celtic Woman has succumbed to the perceived need for their live audiences to hear the best possible sound, so things like this in their shows might be "dubbed" and/or lip-synced. I've always been more than eager to accept some accoustics issues and possibly a bit of a different "flow" than the recorded version of a song, as a part of seeing someone live. It's still great, though. I feel fairly certain these ladies played the song, even if it wasn't live for this video.

Damn. I shouldn't have quit those violin lessons.

It’s called dueling violins but it doesn’t seem like a fight to me. Not even an act or a pretend duel. They sound so harmonious, in perfect sync. How can you have a duel with musical instruments? All you do is just make some awsome music together. Thumbs up for this awsome performance. 👍👍

My sister once tried to run like that while playing her violin. As a result, she broke her ankle, and she had to buy a new violin...

You should see what Lindsey Stirling does while playing. I'm surprised she hasn't broken a few bones.

Mairead Nesbitt just OWNS the violin. I could listen to her all day.

The fact that they’re literally prancing in *HEELS* amazes me. I’d fall over in seconds and break the violin
