Agree with comments immediately above and below. (I'm a Celtic fan who was at the game.) It was a clear penalty for Rangers at 0-0. It was an extraordinary match in which both teams played excellently and where the midfield and attacking skill was brilliant. When Celtic brought it to 2-2, I would have been quite happy to finish at that. It could still have gone either way.

I laughed when i read this, there's footage here on KZbin of Celtic 1 Rangers 1 Nov 1986 and Terry Butcher is taking a free kick at the main stand near the traditional Rangers end, the main stand also housed a section of us Rangers supporters and you can clearly see a young Celtic fan with his green and white scarf in amongst all his Rangers pals which makes me smile when i see it. I hope they all enjoyed the game and made it safely home and hope they are all still the best of pals.

Fair play to you man for uploading the games you lost, I particularly enjoyed this one! Going by what Arthur is saying this episode of Scotsport was aired on the saturday night which seems odd as growing up in the 80's it was always Sportscene on a Saturday night then Scotsport on a sunday afternoon. That was in the days when virtually every game was a 3:00 k.o on a saturday mind you. Cant find too much Celtic action from this era on you tube apart from the odd old firm game, thats a fair amount of good quality coverage you've uploaded here, is it all off VHS

Fair play Stephen and cheers again. 18 year old McStay was outstanding. You mentioned a blatant penalty denied for DJ. What about McGarvey's in the second half? My dad was arrested at a match v Aberdeen for his behaviour towards Brian McGinley. Safe to say he was not a fan.

My recollection was that Sportscene was on a Saturday one season, then Scotsport was on the Saturday the next season.

Nicholas was unselfish that game with excellent through balls, though he was out of order with the elbow on McKinnon. I was in the main stand right in front of the incident and McKinnon put his studs down the back of Charlies' calf, hence the reason he swung out.

Some of the talent Scotland had back then .. was a classic game a must of been five don’t remember it obviously but have seen footage of cooper from this game .. and hearing in the vid rangers hadn’t won ther since 1975 7 years back them ,, let hope rangers beat them this month at ibrox 29/12/18
