Heed the first movement, remember the destruction of the world. Now, behold the destruction of life, dreams, hope; it is the fate of all things. Heed the second movement, and stand in awe. Now, behold your former vain attempts at stopping the inevitable. Heed the third movement, this is the power you oppose. Now, behold your savior and god; there is no salvation, prayers fall on deaf ears. Heed the fourth movement, the skies are tearing apart. Now, behold the wild dance of a charming star!!!!

As someone who has spent the past five years studying and reverse engineering Uematsu's music, learning how to transcribe and compose songs because of One-Winged Angel and the rest of his soundtracks... someone who has scored a 100% total course mark in music composition (not university level, mind you) and every other music-related class I have taken... I ask you: What are your secrets lol Alright, I am going to study this entire arrangement now. I've already done Dancing Mad once, why not again?
@Celvaa4 жыл бұрын
I am truly flattered that you think so highly of my tweaks to this already masterful piece, honestly. And I truly wish I had something helpful that I could tell you to give you proper pointers, but I honestly just...Let the music write itself, for lack of a better way of putting it. I just listen to the piece and I think, "What's missing?" or "What instrument would sound best for this role?" and go from there. Sometimes, I may hear a particular rhythm, melody or alteration to a certain part in my head and I may choose to roll with that as well, changing anything else in the particular section to better fit the change, if it is needed. With that all said though, you said you've passed compositional courses with flying colors, so you should be doing A-okay in that regard. I would say just listen to the pieces you wish to work on and see if there is something you can hear in your head that would go with the piece or perhaps add some news sparks to them. Best of luck to you!

This reminds me of the treatment that the Trans Siberian Orchestra gives classical music - very true to the original piece, but with a real flair and twist that is distinctly modern/postmodern. @christophermitchell27802 жыл бұрын
Kefka does something rarely seen: he literally destroys the world as a villain and sits atop his tower, just waiting and fuming in his madness; sending the Light of Judgment anywhere he sees fit. THIS is a fucking villain. People say "Oh, he's just a Joker wannabe. He's just a clown who wants to murder". Take a step back and see what's going on here, from start to finish. Its possible Kefka was once sane, but Magitek infusion (first test subject) drove him nuts and he was the catalyst of destruction. It's actually interesting, how he went from experiment zero to insane god of magic. Or Seph. Mommy issues. Take your pick.
@Celvaa2 жыл бұрын
Personally, I'd say Exdeath is my favorite Final Fantasy villain, underrated as he may be, just because of the pure scope of his ambition (to destroy absolutely everything). However, you can't deny that Kefka did succeed, although not for long, but he still did turn the world into a wasteland and become a practical god of magic. Most of the villains in the franchise can't say they've made it that close to their ambitions before the good guys come to put an end to their schemes.

Then, after Kefka speech, Necron came out of nowhere : You stand before the final dimension, and I am the darkness of Eternity... All Life bears death from birth. Life fears death, but lives only to die. It starts with anxiety. Anxiety becomes fear. Fear leads to anger... Anger leads to hate... Hate leads to suffering... The only cure for this fear is total destruction. ...Now, the theory is undeniable. All things live to perish. At last, Life has uncovered this truth. Now, it is time to end this world. I exist for one purpose... To return everything back to the zero world, where there is no life and no crystal to give life. In a world of nothing, fear does not exist. This is the world that all life desires. Foolish creature... Your fears have already deluded you. One day, you will choose destruction over existence... It's not over... I'm Eternal... As long there's Life & Death...

It's probably because Kefka goes down without a final speech or anything, though I've read a very good article that breaks down this song and praises the theme itself as his final speech, with the sad melancholic bits of the final movement being his acceptance that this is the end for him, as an avatar of chaos and destruction it's only fitting that he himself is destroyed.

Good evening! After listenning to your cover for something along the lines of 20th times in what? 1 week? I figured it was time to leave a comment. The "Tier 1", "Tier 4" and "Custom Ending" are FUCKING ORGASMIC ! Your Chopin's Nocturn is incredible and even if the others part doesn't grab me as much as the others, they are still miles better than Falkkone or Jonny "GaMetal" Atma ones, and I love their covers too! Rock on dude!
@Celvaa4 жыл бұрын
Holy shit, man, I'm super ecstatic to hear that you think my cover is better than Falkkone and GaMetal's cover! I think those guys are super awesome at what they do, so it really makes my day to hear someone likes something of mine over theirs! All that being said, I did really enjoy tier 1 myself, it was a lot of fun to write out, and tier 4 is like the soul of the song, so I definitely did try to put a lot of elbow grease into it to let it shine as brightly as possible. Also, glad to hear you liked my custom bit; tried to do something new, but I felt it didn't mesh as well, so it's awesome to hear that someone really liked it. Chopin's piece was also pretty fun to arrange, albeit a bit tricky to add new parts to (like the strings and such), but I'm glad you thought that came out well too! Feel free to look around at some of my other cover when you get the time and see which one tickles your fancy. I may not have nearly as much as Falkonne or GaMetal and the mixing quality dips after a few years back, but I always put my best foot forward when writing stuff out.
