An 'in depth' review of a waterproof multimeter. This video is an unboxing, teardown and review of the CEM DT-9989 Multimeter - an IP67 rated Water-resistant TrueRMS Multimeter / Oscilloscope with data logging and Bluetooth connectivity.
I was reccently contacted by a large electronics distributor who I'd not heard of before called Reichelt. They're a German-owned retailer who have been around since 1969. In March 2016 they opened up shop in the UK, so we've now got a market leader with competitive pricing and good stock levels to compete against RS/CPC/Farnel. Hooray for another player in the market and more choice for us customers :-) They mostly concentrate on tools and soldering equipment, but I found lots of interesting items when I was browsing through their site. They offered to send me anything I liked from their catalog (up to a certain price limit) for review. I'd been thinking of getting myself an OLED-screen multimeter for a while now, so I jumped at the chance to get my hands on a very capable looking meter and have a play around with it for a few days. Check out their website at www.reichelt.co.uk
This video is rather a long one, but there were a hell of a lot of features on this multimeter to cover. It took me several days (and about 10 hours of filming) to try out all of the different things that this multimeter can do, and then another entire day to edit down all the footage into a watchable video.
Here's some links and datasheets for the multimeter.
