Hi i know this is an old Video, but I have the RS PRO HS608, which is the exact same meter re branded, but misplaced the charge adapter thing that plugs into the front, anyone know of a place to get one, I've tried google and RS, or is this adapter just a simple device that can be made up ? Cheers in advance
@ThingsWhichArentWork10 күн бұрын
The charge adapter is pretty much surplus to requirements anyway. I charge mine through the test leads. The uA/mA input jack on the lower-left hand corner of the meter is the positive terminal for charging and the COM is the negative. I just set my bench power supply to 9V and stuff the test leads in the right holes to recharge. Hope that helps. Cheers!!

@ThingsWhichArentWork7 күн бұрын
@@X400DYL I've just double-checked everything I told you and plugged my meter in for a charge. My meter does show the charging icon with the wires correctly connected. +9V to the ua/Ma terminal and 0V to COM. Make sure you have the rotary switch on the meter set to the Off/CHG position or it won't charge. Good luck. Cheers!!

Commenting on a nine year old video, I assume you got all this nailed down already! One idea I had while watching was a "mix tank" where you can confirm the dispensed nutrient quantities before they are added to the main tank. It would a small tank seated on high resolution load cells, and the new weight can be checked after each nutrient is dispensed. This would double check the flow rate and cut off of the peristaltic pumps and ensure nutrients are going out. If you expect 5ml of nutrient D to enter the mix but the mix pot only goes up by 4g, there's an issue, etc etc. Once everything is accurately dispensed into the pot, it can be pumped or tipped into the main tank. Now I'm going to check out your other videos and see how you go on.. This is like finding a "new" old TV series to binge 😂
@bc4yt22 күн бұрын
You could rig up the mix pot as a bell syphon and simply pump clean water in to empty it. This would flush it out to avoid scale build up over time.

Great video!😱 Wow, to see exactly what it looks like. I use Diatomaceous Earth, wet and dry. Please make more like these?
@douglaslyell15 ай бұрын
Interesting … but all the conclusions are incorrect … logically pests and parasites EAT diatomaceous and then with its sharp and interlocking shapes it basically sets in the stomach of say silo insects or even parasites in the body .. This logically is the only way it works so I thought I should mention the obvious here …

I needed 3 items to clean up multi-ganged potentiometer: screwdriver to open box, chopstick with taped to it q-tip and 70% isopropyl alcohol. 1. Remove 4 screws on the bottom of the box. 2. Remove top and bottom plastic covers. 3. Soak q-tip in 70% isopropyl alcohol. 4. Between top and bottom PCBs reach with chopstick/soaked q-tip to the top on the potentiometer and brush it few times, so the alcohol can get into pots' tracks through top holes on them. 5. Rotate pot few times back and forward. 6. Let the alcohol evaporate. 7. Screw the box covers back.

Fake stuff are everywhere. I was preparing for a trip to the UK and needed US-to-UK plug adapters. I went on Amazon and ordered a couple of different brands. I noticed one brand had a fuse whereas the other brand did not have a fuse. I did a little more investigation of the fused travel plug and learned that it was a requirement specially when using US devices in the UK. A little more searching on Amazon showed that many such plug adapters are not in compliance with BS8546 nor have a BS1362 type fuse installed. Travelers using unfused type adapter plugs are putting themselves at great risk should their device(s) develops an internal short circuit. Would hate to see the device external cable go up in flames.

Thanks. I guess only missing part is mosfet selection. IRF5305 or IRF9Z34N which I have for some reason is not ideal if microprocessor operates at 3.3V or so (lifepo4, 3xNiMH, li-ion, ...). Few years ago I bought a few TP0606N3-G and LP0701 ... not sure why exactly these, they have quite high on resistance, but vgs(on) is 2.4 or 0.7V. Ok, after experimenting, TP0606 draws about 1-3uA depending on VCC when it should be off (maybe it always conducts a bit), has higher resistance and it's likely discontinued.

5 amps? That's pathetic. I wouldn't even use that fire hazard as lamp cord in the United States. All it's good for is a fire starter. I wouldn't even use it for speaker wire.

If I buy a product with the illegal lead can I but a legal version of the lead and still be usable?
@ThingsWhichArentWork9 ай бұрын
Yes - In the UK the protection is required in the plug/cable to protect the electrical wiring in the house. There is no requirement for the device at the end of the cable to have any kind of protection built in - that is left to the manufacturer's preference. If you replace the lead with a compliant one then all is good. Cheers!!

I needed a hotter tip and ended up using an adapter with variable voltage set to 7.5v I use it for plastic repairs on car interiors and needed hotter melt to ensure adhesion to old plastic. Works great, but I really wanted to use 1.75 as sticks of 3 are so expensive. I bought rolls of 3mm but had to hand bend pieces and was tired of breaking and having to push it through when a kink didn't feed properly. I bought the 3doodler flow to take advantage of the 1.75 but it isn't hot enough either. Unfortunately it doesn't allow a plug in adapter, has a permanent cord coming out of it. I'm about to splice it and try to rig it to my adapter, don't care if I break it, I need it hotter or it's useless

I'm not sure where a mirror assembly would come into play with this type of telly. Cheers!!

Can you give us conclusion on your exprience with DE? Was the DE dusting an effective method of controling the pests in your garden? Thanks!
@ThingsWhichArentWork Жыл бұрын
It definitely helps with supressing the pests, but once you've got them they're pretty much impossible to irradicate. My greenhouse has a floor made out of paving slabs and I get the best results by dusting the cracks in the floor with DE - that stops the ants coming in and farming aphids on my plants. Hope that helps. Thanks for taking the time to comment. Cheets!!

The pump you showed on that site appears to be different from the correct one. Did you figure out which one it is? SI-P007 or SI-P005 looks to be a closer match, but I can't tell which of those two is correct. I need one as mine barely blows and its barely used.
@TerryRGraham Жыл бұрын
I took mine apart, and the diaphragms look fine, and the ball blows all the way to the top, but barely any air comes out. I guess that ball blowing up doesn't mean much. No clogged hoses or filters or kinks.

Hellow, Can you please explain me the use of two diodes here. If we use one controll pin from arduino it will turn on when the button pressed(if the code has written to turn high the controll pin in void setup function) and keep the mosfet on no? So what is the use of getting state of switch? Thank you
@ThingsWhichArentWork Жыл бұрын
It means that you can use the 'on' button for multiple functions once the arduino is powered up. Click to turn on, double-click to enter a menu etc..I made a toothbrushing timer for my kids using this circuit and made it so that a long-press on the switch would turn it back off again. Hope that explains it. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment. Cheers!!
