Cemetery Strolls, Episode 49 : This episode, we visit the 19th century Church St Peter in Havenstreet on the Isle of Wight. Very much a community church, but with some very respected & notables residents buried here. The inside of the church is some hidden gems. The stroll around the Graveyard, was a peaceful walk. with the sound of the birdsong & the sunshine bringing the flowers to bloom.

Thanks for another stroll, Kev! I've heard stories of sailing ships sailing in reverse. Apparently James Clark Ross did this to avoid his ship HMS Erebus being crushed between two icebergs in his Antarctic expedition of 1839 to 1843. ⚓

Hi old friend. I hope that things are getting a bit easier for you on the IOW. I spoke with a builder re-the flooding down there, and he told me about the French Drainage Trench, which can be laid around homes, and buildings etc, might be worth looking into for any further water problems. I love all old pictures that caught moments in time of the bygone era's. I always take a bag of plain flour and a small dusting brush with me to help read some of the older, worn inscriptions. Rub onto headstone, brush off excess to bring out easier reading, then wash off with water, it causes no damage in any way. Old proverb: Nature, time, and patience are the three physicians in life.
