Cemetery Wildlife Watch: Biological recording in cemeteries
Natural History Live by Per Smiseth
Cemeteries and graveyards are important havens for wildlife, especially in urban areas. This talk will introduce you to Cemetery Wildlife Watch, a UK-wide biological recording project aiming to identify and record wildlife in our cemeteries and graveyards. Hear about the wildlife that has been recorded to date, from wintering ladybirds to mammals and fungi, and learn how you can get involved by exploring your cemetery or graveyard
Per Smiseth is a Reader in Animal Behaviour at the University of Edinburgh. He has a keen interest in natural history, and got into biological recording in cemeteries during the COVID-19 lockdown.
