Cenk Erdogan plays Baritone Fretless Acoustic Guitar

Hello to all ; Here is an imporivsation with the first Bartione Fretless Acoustic Guitar build by Turkish Luthier Can Oral (www.canoralguitars.com) . It's my first touch to the baritone fretless guitar ,it sounds very rich and full of harmoınics and its magical . I believe every guitar has it's own music and here is an example of that. I am very happy to have a guitar like this thanks a lot to my luthier Can Oral for this amazing instrument . And special thanks to Anıl Sam for the great framing and shooting

I definitely agree. I was stationed at Izmir Air Station for 11 years. So like you, I recognize a Turkish name when I see one. Turks are great people that make delicious food and very interesting music.

I think fretless it’s a more elegant solution with regards to microtones (rather then adding dozens more little frets)

Although it takes a lot of skill to get clean sound and rich dynamics at the same time.

Fretless instruments are significaly harder to play well. And the tone differs, fretted instruments provide more “solid” feel to them, they’re a bit easier on the ear because you generally know what to expect.

I don't think it's fair to compare them like that. Microtonal guitars with frets have a very different sound quality than fretless guitars.

Video editing: intuitive menu, easy to use for beginners = too limiting for a pro Videography: GoPro is easy to use, durable and has almost no learning curve = not an option for a pro, someone who needs manual focus and tons of other features Photography: cellphones have cameras... Cars: a car with automatic transmission that goes from a to b = not something a professional race driver would use on the track

Pango Metersen Totally agree! Although pros, TV shows, etc. use GoPros aaaaalllllll the time. They don’t use them primarily tho, they use them only when using another camera is either impractical or impossible I think, as others have suggested, the same is true here. They’re different tools for different situations

@@sun_k2576 I am saying that I'm seriously impressed - I was not expecting it to sound great, and most fretless guitar playing is an "ouch" in terms of intonation. Quite a lot of *fretted* guitar playing is an ouch. Proper not easy to just get notes out of a thick-stringed fretless, let alone *music*. I'm saying I respect how many hours the man has put into getting it good, and of course it shows that he's been on the oud for a good while too.

when you think of all the different configurations that the guitar/loot has it's hard to imagine something more expressive than a fretless instrument. And then the very different configuration of having it be a baritone nylon string instrument is just stupendous. Of course this gentleman is a fabulous guitarist and that always helps!

I am a musician (jack-of-all-trades/master-of-none) & was given an Arabian Lute last year. I listened to the ethnic music from the middle east to understand microtonal playing...& went at it.
