I'm center-left, but disagree. Hillary was almost certain to win the primary that year no matter what, and say if Sanders did win and won both terms, we'd be in a very similar problem now. Although I do strongly agree with a sentiment you're hinting at that the DNC better stop shirking the proven-popular fiscal/economic populism, as one of a few big lessons here is that running a campaign of socially centrist and kissing up to super-wealthy donors for the huge funding advantage is now a proven failure.
