I was in the military and there is so much waste. The government pays $180 for a $2 screwdriver from Lowe’s. There is a “hardware” contractor that gets an order of supplies needed, and goes to the store and buys them, then bills the military and 90x the price. We might think they are being ridiculous because the US believes in freedom instead of imperialism (most of the time), but they will get nervous enough to increase their armaments whenever we do the same unless there is a peace deal or even augment our weaponry. What do I mean by the latter? Well, for example, the CCP is creating humanoid soldiers that they will likely arm. If we made defense humanoids that were agile, so they don’t have to use weapons (thus not using them at all) in order to defeat an opponent, that could convince countries in a different way to reduce their armaments in the name of self defense.
