Cenote Cave Diving - A Hidden Gem

Great video, not as beautiful as other caves you’ve filmed but still enjoyable. Can I ask, was there traffic at the narrow part? Were those other divers part of your team or were you giving way to divers coming the other way?

Hi Kay, this cave in particular has a very tiny opening and is relatively shallow compared to the others I’m in. Because of the initial depth there is a lot of brown and a lot of organic material (very fine silt). Once you get further into the cave and a little deeper though the tunnels and cavern areas are mostly white. I really like this cave because if we all bring big lights we can effectively light up an entire cavern. The other reason why I like it is because of the restrictions that you mentioned. There are a variety of them so it’s a good test for anyone interested. The restriction you see is just our group, but it’s so tight that you see one diver take his tank off to squeeze through. The smallest guy in our group doesn’t’ have to remove any gear. The last diver you see isn’t a huge guy and you can see him really pulling himself through. It’s a great challenge.

@@kaynock1585 I had a bit of a tough dive yesterday and anxiety got the better of me. There were a series of issues that piled on together which is the way it goes. Nothing major but for me it wasn’t a successful dive. See, I feel it too sometimes.😃
