🤣🤣 You aren’t wrong my friend… I’ve just been so busy and when I look at the number of views (understandable) I’m just putting my time elsewhere. I do have to say though, it was really nice to just go diving without filming. Maybe in November. I’m booked solid until then.

16:37 A guy who can barely swim here, my anxiety went up at this moment 😅 I’m thinking about grabbing the line and never let it go Edit: 17:11 of course you have several spare lights 👌
@meridacavediver4 ай бұрын
🤣So… true story. If you’ve watched more recent videos you’ll notice the quality difference. Well this was one of if not my first solo dive, and several things happened on this dive where let’s say I had “increased anxiety” lol. So I know exactly what you mean. On this dive I had three lights (the minimum you should have), and in that area it was fairly contained so if I lost buoyancy I couldn’t float too high. My secondary light on my helmet was easy to reach, and for the third I had to take off my back pouch to get it. But yeah, your mind does wonderful things in these moments.

Thank you, I’ve been here many times since and in a way I understand the logic now. Technically you can get to the exit in both directions but here’s the real challenge. If you don’t know the caves, you have no reference to path and air requirements. That is the most dangerous part. Always go back out, the way you went in, despite what the arrows tell you.

At 4:20 you are showing a single cylinder diver who may not be cave trained... why?
@meridacavediver10 ай бұрын
😍😍😍😍 YES!!!!! I was wondering if anyone would notice! I must have rewritten this part 3 or 4 times…. Unfortunately I see quite a few instructors and guides bringing non cave people into caves. I wanted to touch on it in more detail but I also wanted to keep this high level. I will be touching on it though when I talk about instructors, and training in more detail. I’m really happy caught that, thank you!

Awesome video and has the information that is hard to find on the internet. I already made the decision to give cave diving a shot in a couple weeks. This is still good info. I respect the risks and will also take in as much as I can for training and practice in the future.

I think your comments about deco requirements in caves may be a tad misleading. The way you explained it, in my opinion, sounded like you were tying decompression procedures to cave diving. As I am sure you are aware, there are many, many caves that can be explored without the need for technical decompression procedures and likewise, you don't need to be trained in decompression procedures to become a full cave diver.
@meridacavediver10 ай бұрын
Hey there, and yes, you are 100% correct. I will be going into more detail on this topic in future videos, so this was just a high level over view but yes. Most of Playa, Tulum, and any caves above 40m are largely no deco caves. I also could have a bias as all of my dives start at 40m, but I will talk about that in much more detail when I talk about decompression in depth. Thank you for commenting, I appreciate the time it took.
