There's actually a pretty understandable reason for all the sexualization in Electric Tale. The artist for it... well, he used to do Hentai. I have no idea WHY they'd hire a hentai artist for a Pokemon manga, but for some reason they did. That's why it's so extreme compared to all other Pokemon manga.

Koga's Arbok didn't die though. If you read through it later, it's explained that the Arbok can regenerate its body, so long as the head stays in tact. Sort of like a worm.

@Jank Paul Yeah with a main character that actually knows what he's doing or seems to learn to for instance :P. I was hyped to start rewatching pokémon only to be dissappointed about what a childshow it really is. Would definitely watch an actual anime from a story about pokémon :). Because let's face it, calling pokémon an anime serie is really pushing it. It's a childshow at best.

Michael Clark I've said for a while that the manga is for those who felt the anime was too immature. I can say that Pokemon Adventures is easily one of my favorite ways to experience Pokemon, and is just a straight up great series.

I absolutely agree! After watching so many mistakes and inconsistencies from the anime, I decided to give the Pokemon manga a chance. It has deep stories, amazing and memorable battles, interesting characters, character development and best of all, no Ash. It is the complete opposite of the anime. It's a shame that more people don't read it. They still continue to defend the anime, even though there is nothing redeeming about.

+Michael Clark Despite obvious shortcomings with characters and story, I feel the anime does the Pokémon themselves right. The voices and personalities tend to fit well and the sizes feel more accurate to how they really would be. For example: each of the legendary Golem trio is stated to be around 5'5 in the games, but in the anime and movies they are MASSIVE, each one at least 15 feet tall. Not to mention their king truly living up to the "Colossal Pokémon" name; Regigigas has to be at least 25 feet tall in the movies.

Yeah, minor spoilers: That Arbok is fine. Apparently in the manga series, Arbok's markings denote different abilities. Koga's Arbok can regenerate as long as the head is intact. This is explained when he fought Agatha alongside Blue. Or Green . . . Red's rival (yes, the Kanto Elite Four are evil/misguided).

I was watching My Neighbour Totoro a bit ago, and when I got to the father/daughter bathing scene I had no problems. The two girls, ranging from 8 to around 5, have next to no breasts and any ass or genitalia is censored with water and soap froth. The father wasn't eyeing his daughters or anything, and it was a relatively very cute family moment. And then boobified Misty became the new Almighty Boob Overlord and now I don't know anything anymore.

You forgot to mention the main reason for Electric Tale of Pikachu's raunchiness. The guy who illustrated it also does hentai (porn) manga. In fact, he was pretty much exclusively a hentai artist until he did this. This explains A LOT. I guess it's roughtly the equivalent of hiring a porn star as the lead on a kids show.

i had read the manga before this (adventures v.2) and i really love what they do with it. I know they are different characters, but red, green, blue yellow and all the other background characters are just so much deeper than in the anime. i really love the manga and i'm glad you talked about them, exposing more people to one of my favorite aspects of the pokemon franchise.

Sexualized minors, nudity, and sexualization in general seems to be a far less touchy subject, and sometimes maybe even humorous in Japan. I don't really understand, but it would be very interesting to have someone Japanese try to explain this. I also notice that although a sexualized 12 year old girl is obviously pedophilia, Misty in this manga doesn't look 12 at all. She looks like a normally developed girl in her late adolescence, or even adulthood, which puts physical attraction in a more grey-area. Its almost like an 18 year old girl TOLD YOU she was 12. What would you feel then?

The only part that I actually view is pedophilia is Brock creeping on Misty. It doesn't matter what she looks like, she's still only 12 years old. Any guy 17 and below is fine for being sexually attracted to her. Once you hit above 18 it gets weird. Mostly because when you hit adult age it starts hitting the "that could be my dad" age zone.

I honestly don't see a problem with it because that's the way it was made. I'm a huge advocate for no censorship. I hate everything about it, and it's gets so bad in the West that it becomes downright ignorant. Brock calls rice balls "Donuts" in the English version of the anime. Lord forbid children learn about foods from different cultures! Also fun fact: Japanese breasts are actually getting bigger in recent years the numbers say, actually curvier in general. For those saying Japan is creepy: this is called "cultural differences" I mean, let's be real, every culture that looks at another will always find at least one thing they dislike about it, but I still think it is rude to judge it so rudely because of that. You do not know their standards, how they grew up or anything, so do not say they are corrupt people. They are also in the complete opposite of us in one factor. For a notable example said in this video, take a look at how we kept all of the violent stuff from that manga in our version. In recent years, Japan treats violence how we treat sexuality, and I am talking heavy censorship here. And when I say heavy, I am not exaggerating. I am talking worse than how we censor sexuality. Cultures are always different, so to say one is just weird, I find it disturbing. You can say what the thing is in general is weird, but don't call _them_ weird. They do not deserve that because they grew up with different morals, standards and more that they find acceptable. Cultures are different, hence the term; so get over it.

Like 15 is the legal age of consent between teens of the same age, but a 21-year old wouldn't be allowed to have sex with a 15-year old. Also, if the teenager's parents or legal guardians decide to overrule that rule and say that the teen can't have sex before being 18 years old, then that's their right as legal guardians of a minor.
