This worked like a charm on my '91 190e 2.6, and I'm very grateful! There was extra work for me because the long screws on either side of the vent unit (which hold the top of the panel) had rusted heads and I had to drill them out. Now I have to figure out if I can open/fix the fan speed control lever unit or find the part and replace it. Thanks again!

Does this removal Apply also To a 89 190 e . Where the 6 tape Slots are at mine has a flat piece of wood trim .

there's not really much to it as it's just a force fit. Remove the trim around the base of the gearstick. now you have room for a tool to prize off the wood panel. You will now be able to pull the panel slightly to give you sufficient space to unplug the switches

I found a replacement blower fan switch on eBay for $95 and installed it and the A/C is working now. But after reinstalling the center dash console, now the ceiling dome lights, and lights for visor mirrors, ash tray, and glove compartment are not working. I checked the fuse #19 and it's fine. I labeled the plug-ins I disconnected so I'd get them all put back properly. I don't know how to fix this. Can anyone help?
