What a lovely area! Thanks for sharing about how cautious you were about the tunnels.

The area is beautiful! My husband and I went a year ago but did not have our RV yet. It was still a wonderful trip. I see that excitement on your faces and in your voices. It should be on everyone's must do list.

We are really enjoying your South Dakota videos, lots of great info. We are planing to go there either this spring or fall and that Center Lake Campground seems like the perfect spot for our class C rig. Two questions: As we plan to rent a car for a week to tour the Custer Park area, how far is the campground from Rapid City? What is that map you showed on the video? As we are 8.5' wide and 11'3" tall that tunnel info would be valuable. Looking forward to your next South Dakota videos! Wishing you dry roads and green lights, Andy & Kim from Southern California

It is only around 35 miles to get to Custer State Park, but it will take a while to get to Center Lake Campground. The map we showed is the one we picked up at Wall Drug. It's available other places. I know we saw one at a fish hatchery. If you order South Dakota information online, you should get a map with tunnel heights and widths. You can order the info from www.travelsouthdakota.com.

Online at Custer State Park, you'll find a map of the park, and I believe there are also maps for each individual campground.

When you say "came in the wrong way," do you mean you just pulled in forward or no?
@TwoTiredTeachers3 жыл бұрын
We drove the wrong way on a camping loop so that we could get the trailer in the site.

Why don't they add all those fees into the daily campground price? Even a straight $19 is too high for no amenities. Just saying. Thanks for showing!
@TwoTiredTeachers3 жыл бұрын
I don't know why they don't have a flat fee rather than a fee with several things tacked on. Staying in Custer State Park was a dream of ours, and we loved it.

Yes I didn’t realize all the hidden cost to be a tourist in the area really need to check with the AAA and send off for some books brochures for that area would you suggest that was there any BLM land out there? Thanks for your information.
@TwoTiredTeachers3 жыл бұрын
I really don't know about BLM land in the area. It was a dream to camp in Custer State Park. We did have lots of information from the states we visited. AAA is a good idea. I'm a member and should have thought about that.

Thanks for making it easy for stupid people to find this once treasure. Nothing lasts forever I guess. It's totally worth the views and likes though......
