I've seen where some people are having problems with the centrifugal weight system causing problems. They will get stuck and throw the balance off. Removing them seems to work well though. I'm considering this clutch kit (DF201963) for my car. Using a GM 3400 engine. But I think I will remove the weight system before installing, just to be safe. I'd like to hear your thoughts on this, please.

The weights "float" on the diaphragm fingers with a retaining ring so it's not really possible for one or more weights to get "stuck"...on the exceedingly rare occasions where the weights are thrown off balance it's usually a radical imbalance issue elsewhere causing the problem, such as the pressure plate isn't properly centered due to the use of the incorrect bolts or missing dowel pins, for example. You can remove the weights if you choose but you'll lose the superior clamping force that the weights provide if you do so. The clutch will, however, operate properly without the weights.

@@CenterforceClutches Thank you for the information. I had seen this video; kzbin.info/www/bejne/kJbHfJ2jat5_gqM showing what happened and the wear supposedly from the weights sticking. I read your GM V6 FWD pressure plates don't have the weights on them. Is that correct? Anyway, I'm still looking for a good street clutch that can hold around 300HP/250 Lbs/ft. What is the holding power of your GM V6 FWD clutches? I didn't see that listed on your site.

Hi centerforce I have a df700000 on my 347. I am starting to get slip at a lighter throttle. If you get on it hard it will stop slipping and hook up Is this wear? Or something wrong. It has only been in the car 12months
