omg, i wrote down everything from this lecture...you held up a mirror to me. I could never categorize before what my problem was, not an alcoholic (but use alcohol to soothe, remove pain and stop thinking) CODA was not a complete fit, but Love Addict is. Thank you for explaining it, my life makes sense now. If only there was an LAA in my area or a therapist well versed in L.A. in my area :-(

as a cisgender man, i still found this video helpful with perspective and insight - so i wouldn't discourage males from watching just because it says "female love addiction" :) thank you!

Very well done & explained! After getting out of the 2. Vers toxic relationship...I must admit that I recognize lots of patterns in myself. Looks like that woman with this traits perfectly fit/ or fall for NPD, BPD, psychopathic or other cluster B personality men. EYEopening video! Thank you!

thanks for posting this series of lecture in your current observations and studies of love addiction. I am currently trying to wake up my eyes to the extent of my dis-associative behaviors many of which I was not cognizant of until watching this video, listening to your citations of other people's work and hearing your personal testament to studying this subject. I was triggered yesterday by a positive interpersonal experience that normally might engender further growth in development in someone who already resolved their trauma, but currently it seems like I have to go on a binge of love and sex fantasy thru internet pornography to get a false sense of cleansing and wholeness that robs a person of the opportunity to use time wisely, not indulge in past grossly degenerative habits ( in some cases masturbation in search of highs) and a total neglect of current responsibilities. I tried to self impose a detox forum for the past 24 hours sensing I was about to enter one of these dis-regulation episodes, but was unable to maintain the period thru which I wanted to subvert all the emotional incongruity by sleeping because I had to wake up and tend to other concerns.

Very good video, I appreciate it. Every point you made was like taking a bullet, lol, but it was good to understand what's going on, thanks!

There is evidence based research that says genetic components play a big role in BPD. Poor parenting is not always the culprit in BPD.

I was enmeshed with my father (took care of his emotional needs because BPD mother wouldn’t) but whenever I take an attachment quiz, it’s says I have “anxious/secure” attachment. This doesn’t fit into the schematic you shared and I wonder what you think about that?

I have some love addict characteristics, and I found the presentation helpful, but my god therapists make “healthy” sexuality sound unfulfilling and boring.
