What causes the slide between addicted and avoidant? I recognize both of these traits in myself. I remember my last relationship I saw my issues staring in my face and then saw I had absolutely no tools/skills to make it better. Oddly enough, it was because if this awareness that I became more and more unglued, precisely because it takes me back to a preverbal stage and a lack of a strongly defined self. So, without a sense of knowing who you are- how can you authentically communicate? But the anger, fear, hopelessness, loneliness and shame is overwhelming. Also, the disconnect with my feelings and body is alarming. Thank you so much for these series..
