@1:40 I like to over bend the copper lines towards the compressor to ensure they won’t pop out.

I liked that you used New Valve Cores. Not good to comeback for a bad valve core. Repeat work costs 💰 🤑 💸. Or is that a real professional task a man like you does for his trade ?. Love this channel.

What are those inverted traps on the suction side line set above the filter dryer @7:28? It looks like every unit has it installed. I’m sure it serves a purpose but I’ve never seen them installed vertically. Is it something for refrigeration oil?

Oil recovery. But I’ve never seen them like that in the roof but I don’t do pipe fitting

Excellent Repair wonder how much a job like this cost or is it cheaper buy new condenser unit ?
@ApartmentMaintenancePro3 ай бұрын
It’s USUALLY cheaper to replace just the compressor, but not by much. Many variables determine which path to go

what do you think about the new refrigerants?
@ApartmentMaintenancePro2 ай бұрын
Not much they don't bother me, I've been through a phase out before just need to learn and adapt.

Just to know, what were you hammering for. (Expanding inner opening ?)

He was swaging the copper (expanding it to create a fitting for the other side of what he is brazing to go into it)

I have a portable 14,000BTU AC unit (Honeywell) and a bunch of Black&Decker 14k units. I recently switched to the Honeywell and it works amazing - when it works - but the issue is that it's constantly turning itself off until the water is emptied. I end up waking up at 3AM covered in sweat and it just sucks because I have to physically lift it up and put a bucket under and pull the two plugs. What's strange is that I ran the B&D units for years and years and I do not recall ever having to drain the water as I only run them on cold but I'm also running the Honeywell on cold only yet it still requires 1-2 empties when I'm trying to sleep. The only thing I can think of is that the B&D units would make a noise like a water droplet hitting a super hot pan so maybe they dispose of the water by having it drip on the hot compressor and boil off? Idk. The Honeywell has 2 drain plugs and one is at the absolute bottom of the unit so using hoses doesn't really work unless I can raise the whole unit up but it would be too tall to blow on me then.
