It would be pretty awesome if you can explain the high side and low side how to hook up gauges and why are they the highside or lowside. Yes we all can look that up but sure would be nice to go over some of the basic for people like my wife who just really likes to put you on in the background and listen.

I suggest to watch the videos and learn by doing so(whilst taking in the entertainment). granted I often listen more than watching, but I know the majority of it and can often tell whats going on by the sound of the machines, gas flowing noises, as well as compressors and fans. same for many other things, yeah it's years of being a gearhead/mechanical/electrical/plumbing/construction/electronics/automotive and more. I get bored doing the same thing all the time, so I jump around lots. not afraid to get dirty and have snaked many sewer lines, crawled in no mans land 💩 replacing cast iron drains, hand dug to top of backed up of septic tanks, hand dug to water well casing tops and down to pitless adapters to replace pipes, rewired and replumbed whole homes, built garages(minus the concrete masonary YUCK) and I avoid drywall/painting like the plague. 🤠

oh, at chinesium unbranded schrader core tools( I bought one to test, it fails misserably at any vacuum levels) leak leak leak. but if you fiddle some there will be neutral positions of no pressure on them, that will be fair enough to pass short decay tests. lol dont let them sit for very long under vacuum.

Why not have a standard order of operations for task at hand. Anytime you open the system a new filter dryer should be installed I was told.

I'd say it depends on the health of your body if you want to do install I've met two guys in there mid forties that are just getting into the field that can do the job no problem

Yeah, if the fan in the furnace was running it can cause enough of a temperature drop to make a slight pressure change from high to low side. If the fan was off the whole time those pressures would've been undoubtedly equal. You guys did a nice job on the diagnosis and repair.

@@michaeldickson9501the house was 75° not 69° which it would have to be at a maximum for that to be the case. More like 65° inside for that to be the case.

​​​@@DCHVACI would think the evaporator was indeed 69 at this very moment, even if the rest house was 75. You did just release several pounds of presumably liquid refrigerant back into the full system which would undoubtedly have expanded from a liquid into a gas and dropped the piping temperature. I think given enough time to stabilize it would eventually raise to a vsat of 75 if the fan kept running long enough. In saying that though as long as the fan is running I would think the pressure would be lower on the evap side still, and explains the difference.

schmutz in the system, no filter dryer, likely brazed with no nitrogen flowing and someone ramming gas into it to try and fix the issue, vs. actually diagnosing and repairing(replacing). from 2010, they likely bought into the hype of r-410a being so much better than R-22 and POE vs mineral oil( no/no and no again, and 50 more NO's)

High head pressure only occurs from overcharge or heat rejection issue. Head pressure with a restriction is normal to lower head pressure. Look at the hvac cheat sheet chart for restriction.
