Dirty flame sensor on Super Bowl Sunday 🙃 Love that you’re installing some Rheem stuff for people who don’t go for Bosch. I think Rheem/Ruud might be the best bet for modern day basic equipment. We’ve been installing their new platform stuff since late 2015, only had a handful of warranty evaporator coils/Txv’s. Little to nothing on condensers/compressors.

Mikey I put Ruuds in almost everyday for the past 7 years at the company I work for since we’re a Ruud pro dealer. Have probably installed over 500 by now lol and we always put those metal sheet metal plates on the bottom of the furnace and then screw and tin tape it and then put a piece of “s” clete at the back edge since the manual wants 1/4”-1/2” slope for the heat exchanger to drain effectively. I do however like your foam tape idea I’ve never seen that and now I am going to try it since if we ever have to replace anything the silicone isn’t a nightmare to try and break free! call before you dig. BAH! we did a large self supported roof over a deck and walkway to a car port. put in 13 posts and never hit anything, but tree roots and the top of a concrete sewage vault(lol) it was a mobile home park. the park maintenance guy stopped and talked ot us, saying he couldn't believe we didn't hit anything. 🤣 I looked at surrounding trailer and a few vacant sites to see how all the lines ran, so observancy and skill was key! it was for a veteran and made the news paper there. lol, I was sweating bullets a bit.

Hey Mike, I recommend you looking into getting yourself a solar generator to provide power to any of the power equipment that you need 120 V. I use an EcoFlow Delta 2 Max and I can get an entire day of operating my calibration validation equipment. I’ve even used it for my recovery machine and vacuum pump. I don’t need to use extension cords anymore. The best part of the solar generator it can charge in your work van just off of the 12 V cigarette outlet, charges by solar or by a wall outlet and it charges very quickly. I usually put it back in my work vehicle at the end of the day. On my travel time home it usually is able to top off the charge and it usually is ready to go the next day but sometimes it will take travel time to the first service call the next day to charge it to full. It’s one of the best investments that I’ve made.

Install looks great. The only thing I would do different is install the Knight IPG after the furnace in the supply plenum not in the return. Pretty sure the install instructions say to install it after the furnace or air handler. That goes for any air purifier system.

Grip the bottle top with the ring finger hook the bottom end and the bottle top with the bottom end of your ring finger then push up and top should come off. Don't do it with a gold band it will get destroyed

Mikeypipes. There is a tab on the case coil that you bend up so your sheet metal can rest against 3/8 inch tab you up 90°. And also just an FYI I always do your end piece further away piece first it’s easier to work with.

Mikey pipes. You should pick up a couple of Milwaukee 6.0AH Battery’s you will notice a massive difference especially for any type of cutting tool bandsaw, sawzall, grinder, multitool. If i had to guess 17 years ago four hour minimum. Labor only $485.00

Love the grill on return drop because house don’t have enough return. That what we do when we need airflow due to high static pressure. 98 percent of houses ductwork undersized. Most guys just change equipment not fix duct problems

Mikey, I normally put 2 elbows on the fresh air intake so it’s pulling from down so that mice or anything can drop into the Burner box. Also with the return air being literally right beside the air intake will that cause any issues of it pulling too close to the air intake?

You talked about not installing many heat pumps, but you installed a bunch of Bosch units all the time and they are heat pumps. Why not use the snow legs to keep it above the snow level like you use on the Bosch units? Many heat pump split systems have two TXV's (Bosch uses EEV's) because they aren't bi-directional. The one on the indoor coil is for AC and the one in the outdoor unit is for heat pump mode. Dual-fuel systems are all my company sells here in the Denver Metro. The heat from the furnace and cost of NG is much better, but we do sell the Bosch SEER2 20 for the CCHP rebates making it a less expensive solution. They have a decent COP down pretty low, but people prefer the heat of the furnace when it is really cold, so 25-40 degrees is a decent setpoint for a unit like that. I am not sure what that area pays per therm vs kWh. Be interesting to see the COP on the Rheem/Ruud systems are. Did you do a combustion analysis on the furnace off camera to dial it in?

@@PipeDoctor for example if the bottom of ur furnace is 27 inch depth and 17 1/2 left to right make a 6 inch tall box cut out the hole for the bottom of ur furnace on it and then u can cut out a bigger hole on the side of the furnace basically ur taking to side in that case u we’re right side and bottom and u would gain more of a opening for ur filter I hope I explained that good better with pics

No, ECM is more tolerant to higher ESP (at the expensive of blower longevity), however ECM doesn't imply variable/multi-stage capacity, which is what would help in an oversized situation.
