I didn't mind the jittering at all ! First time I've seen a compilation of ads I actually remember 😊 I was in my last year at secondary school, thank you for sharing and evoking lots of memories!!

The jingle for Kia Ora was done by an act called Caramba who was, in fact, Michael B. Tretow, Abba's recording engineer.

the Kia Ora advert was one of the first ones to be axed for being inappropriate which you can see was fair.

The Access card ad is also interesting as they painted a picture that having credit was easy as pie as this is wrong and must been the cause of people spending beyond their means and as a result cause what happened later on the 1980s and also 1993 and more damaging almost 10 years ago. As if people did not learned.

Go smash an egg said the late Barbara Woodhouse, the soundtrack Cocktails For Two by Spike Jones & his City Slickers from the album Thank You, Music Lovers (RCA Victor RD-7724, 1965). Derek Nimmo (also sadly no longer with us) voiced over the one for British Airways, the soundtrack for the one for Maxell Tapes is A Night On The Bare Mountain, a "Symphonic Poem" by Modest Moussorgsky.

Christ! This video tape you recorded on has not stood the test of time! Jumping all over the place to the point that it becomes annoying to watch in the end! Thanks for the upload though good ads from my childhood these!!!!

Some of these adverts, for example the Maxell tape and the Birds Eye Oven Crispy advert looks as if they were from the previous year, while the Kia Ora advert, I thought was a bit later, around 1985. 10:10 I remember the "Acacia Avenue" advert for central heating, either for British Gas or the Electricity Board which I think was similar to that, but from around 1986.

I remember another "Go Smash an Egg" advertisement which featured either Billy Connolly, or somebody who looked like him.

A few of the ads would not shown today due to the PC culture that started to evolved later on the 1980s.

A few things suspect no one under 35 will know who was Barbara Woodhouse was anyway which might be a blessing. Think she did the Egg ad just before she died?

Surprise that American Express thought the common people would get one as thought it was a bit elitist for the likes like my late dad as I remember had one.
